New PC, will my vid card do for now?

Intel 4 3.0e ghz ht. 800 mhz frontside bus

512 ddr ram

1mb l2 cache

ati radeon 9200 8x agp 3d graphics with 128mb ddr video memory

160 gb hd

    Hmm.. it will be good for most games now, yes. However if you plan on getting games like Doom 3 or EQ2 it probably won't cut it. :/

    The ram might hold you back a bit, too, especially for a game like DnL.

    Is there a better vid card I can get for $200 or less...also I just found out that more memory on a vaio costs an arm an a leg...true?...tkanks

    You definitely need 1 gig (1024mb) of RAM. Trust me... it is so much better.

    Better video card for under $200? That is going to be hard.

    It will hold EQ2 at lowest settings, and the 9200 is a 2x/4x agp card, not 8x.

    The MSI RX9800Pro 128mb, 256bit is a great vid card for under $200.

    I was going to get a nVidia 6800GT, but just couldn't swing the dough for it so I got the RX9800Pro instead. It actuall has a R360 9800XT core minus the overdrive and temp monitoring feature. I slapped a Vantech fan card in the pci slot below the vid card and oc'ed it to 419/738, 9800XT speeds no problem.

    You could also go for SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9800 PRO for $193.

    Sorry bout that I just copied the specs off of the Best Buy website...they must of been wrong.
