    Just checking...

This was going to be  my point

This guy has shown himself to be the most hysterical ,absurd and petulant supporter of AOC I've ever seen.If I was Avery and others I would be cringing ...cause he's actually just feeding the anti-funcom sentiment with this vociferous and outlandish views

As mentioned he may actually be a Funcom antagonist who is actually trying to encourage negative debate

This whole topic is nothing more that trhe ranting of a raving fanboy or a troll with a very warped sense of humor :).

Dont take the bait. Look around and find similar situations all over the world and nothing is done.

Yea that's what MrBloodworth was saying, and I think he's right. ILOVEFUNCOM guy was bumping all of the negative posts, while at the same time giving the people who actually like and support Funcom a bad name. Clever, I must say, but he's still a douche.

I was in graphic design and printing business a few years back, something like this will be about:
logos and trademarks, as well as other marks, trade names, are the properties of their Funcom. You may not use, reproduce, copy or manipulate such logos in any manner without the prior written consent of the owner.
With the avatars in question being the subject then how closely do they look to the FC logo?
To be honest, I don't think Funcom really cares about the half a dozen people with them. For me whats the point of taking someones strong opinion seriously when there is name calling involved. It not as if the the "ban the bomb" logo now is it.

This isn't true.  That would only apply if people were trying to make a profit by using the funcom logo.   I can use the logo of any company I want, but as soon as I try to make a profit from it, thats when I get in trouble. ---  That is the 'copyright' side of the arguement

The other side is the 'liable' issue, but that doesn't include 'parodies', which the failcom logo falls under.

It wouldnt make it to trial, because it would open the door to an actual class action lawsuit. The Failcom logo would lead to the question why, and funcom would be up shits creek as they have done a whole lot of proveable false advertising.

Sad thing is, nobody will actually sue funcom, its intimidating for joe blow to try to take on a corperation.

No game company would take the time, or risk, for the insignificant.

I will avoid to use the Failcon icon, but I share the sentiments with these people that do.

think I'd have a better chance of  WB,then FC, with my logo.

People are probably okay about using the Failcom logo but there are other things you cant do like say there are 415000 subscribers in June 30 when it was obviously August 14 and that is spreading false information and for that type of error you can be liable for what you say especially if you advertise it publicly.  Profit has nothing to do with a civil suit for defamation you are talking about violating copyright and that is very different and a separate type of liability.  I hope that explains the issue and we can consider this issue dead and lets just all be safe and recognize that corporations have a lot of power and you are not anonymous on the internet!

I am not looking to be annonymous on the internet, but thanx for the refresher in everything we all already knew.... Was this a veiled attempt to make affraid and were you hoping this poorly worded and contructed paragraph would silence the unhappy masses attacks on funcom? Report: It was a report that was released on august 15th and it said clear as day in the report that the report covered up to the Month ending June 30th.  How does this make me liable for anything? Quote the statutes pls not garbali gook nonsense ....

Profit / civil suit : this can affect the companies profitabilty and indeed very dramatically, as once words leaks out that not only are you engaged in a forum cover up, but that youve begun sueing your customers or former customers its pretty much over in terms of new business, dont you think?

In cases like this, when its the first time its been done in a genre, they sometimes make national news headlines....

Not the kind of product endorsement any company is looking for I would guess.

    My 2cents - and I expect change!

I do not mean to confuse you and Im sorry I realize that for many things like financial reports are not easy to read and people misinterpret them all the time including my Aunt who misread a financial report when she invested in GENERAL ELECTRIC which made her buy more and look at it now its falling like an Italian soccer player in the World Cup Final!  But trust me in this that FUNCOM was very clear and was completely liable for lying on that report and so when they CEO and Erling said it was August 14th they really meant it after all Erlings 50k a year job is not worth going to jail for lol.
