What thoughts have been put into crafting?
Sometimes people just grow tired of exploring and fighting all the time and want a change of pace. This also is a great source of income for many players.

I feel that crafting should be integrated into SGW. It would add an unique aspect to the game that appeals to a large population of gamers out there. Things like crafting weapons and armor would be awesome.
um...hmmm.. if i dont say it it isnt neccisarily true right?
this game is going to rip tabula rasa off so completely that even the launch will flop. im sure there will be buggy crafting and itll get fixed someday (isnt TR still tweaking theirs regularly??..yea they are) actually i cant say im sure of it. maybe they will be smart and scrap the crafting idea and just go with upgrading. i seriously suggest not getting any hopes for this game up unless you REALLY like TR.
cant say why i know, but i do.
I'm looking for the next MMO with an awesome crafting & merchant system. I feel that since SWG, there has not been another crafting/merchant system to match. Anyone know if SGW has something good coming?
In my opinion, the more complex, the better.
I completely agree. Let's stop the dumb down and enjoy some realy complex crafting similar to what SwG used to offer.
crafting in a sci fi and especialy stargate what a dumb idea i hope they dont they should just focus on awesome gameplay and story missions rather then go into all these crappy fantasy mmo stuff fail fial fail fail fail otherwise i cba to get quest kill 20 jaffa grab local systemlord head then pick up 5 plate bars and 2 leather hides to make my self a leather vest fail fail fail
All I know is that the crafting components will be looted, no resource gathering. I'm not a crafter but it sounds good to me, can't imagine SG-1 mining stuff so they can make weapons and armour. But constructing something from looted parts makes sense.
Besides as a God, resource gathering and crafting is beneath me. I have my Tar slaves carry out such menial tasks!
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience"
