Stability

Alright I need to know if I can increase stability for this game.  I have an AMD Athlon 64 3200 ~2.0, 4gigs, 8800 gts, and I am runing vista.  Is their any concievable way I can increase stability without having to buy a new processor?

yes they have fixed stability. both my son and i (on different computers) haven't crashed or got booted  once since headstart. good job mythic :). it happened a few times to each of us in open beta.

Run a virus scanner (I like AVG) and an adware program (Adaware from Lavasoft works nicely).  Other than this I am really not sure why you would not be running stable.  Only other thing I can think of is run the defragmenter and possibly driver cleaner.

    It's a Jeep thing. . .

I meant lag not like crashing.  The game is stable in areas with low population but it doesn't feel like internet lag.

Unfortunately it is your processor holding you back, it meets the specs but nothing more. Adjust your settings to low (fastest framerate) and your performance should improve.

2 gig min. The only lag issues I've seen and they are few is zone transistion. I've been in 50 on 50 keep fights with almost zero lag. I hate to say if if you ahve the memory then it might be your proc. The only other thing is the normal stuff drop any background programs and up your priority for the client.

Honest mate if you are going to enjoy WAR ti its fullest you will need a new processor.

It is ok looking at the min specs but that is all they are, basically you can run this game, they dont say you can run this game at end lvl RvR,Imagine maybe say 80 players on your screen at once your processor will be phonning in sick that day.

Sorry but I do think you will have to upgrade even if you lower all of yor settings,I am sure we will see more threads like this very soon.

TBH,you have the RAM and a good video card it is a shame to not go and get a new processor,I would take a guess you have already spent good money to upgrade it so why not finish the job?

If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

    Read my edit above.

that new processor is very cheap yes but it wont add alot, like I said your system would fly with a good processor so maybe best if you dont have the cash now wait for a bit and save up and buy a good 1 rather than a tiny bit better for next to no cash.

You will feel better in the long run, trust me.

I would try overclocking your processor and making sure drivers are up to date. Also defrag your HD and kill all the processes you dont need.  Also if you don't care how vista looks you can set it for best performance in system properties.

Or if your not playing any DX10 games right now and you have a copy of XP around I would install that.   Im still using XP I have 4 gigs installed but it only shows up at 3 and some change.  Still havent gotten around to Vista yet, really have no need to right now.  Most likely Christmas is when Ill do the switch when I get another 4 gigs of ram.

Think this would be good enough?

It might be hard to find any 939's around anymore..... Im not sure if they made dual core for 939 or not but If you can search around and try to get one that would be best.   If not that procy would give you more performance and you can try to OC it more to get a bit more juice out of it.

Edit:   Try looking at www.pricewatch.com  you might find something good there.

The problem is my socket is 939 I can currently find only two processors that support that socket atm.

Yeah i was just about to post that, i found it on tiger direct...... I would do a bit more searching and see if you cant find it cheaper somewhere..... But that opteron should help out a lot.

Here are some other processors I found on pricewatch

    Indeed :)

I would do alittle more searching and you will find others but even with that 1 you will notice a huge difference in preformance.

It doesnt cost to look around but damn it does cost when you only do small upgrades everytime and it also costs your stress level :)
