I don't see how anyone can spin this as a good thing. Either Gaute is incompetent, and has been screwing the game up, and resigned, or the game is terrible and he had little to no control over it, and resigned. AoC is NOT some miracle game that just got a bad rap with its lead designer QUITING out of the blue for some random, coincidental reason.
There is nothing logical about AOC. No Developer with half a brain would make a MMO with one single linear gameplay with just one storyline and one starting city. Thats just sloppy and bad as an mmo.
Think about it. The producer of the game and 16 year founder of FC did NOT quit because the game was going well.
Granted things could get better under new leadership, but right away? I don't think so. And even still, has FC earned your trust? If you quit because you thought AoC was broken or sucked or whatever, do not re-sub until you find out for a fact that the game has improved, otherwise you'll probably just be a sucker for what may be just another marketing ploy to snag another month of subs from people.
And how do you do that unless you re-sub and try it for yourself. Also I am not a sucker, I think AoC is better then alot of games out there . the latest patch fixed alot of the things players have been asking for don't listen to others try it and make up your own mind.
