I do feel that this should be celebrated!

Hate to bust everyone's bubble but hype doesn't mean much unless the game goes gold, is a good game, provides all that was promised, and has a decent subscriber rate. AOC had alot of hype and look what happened to it
. I hope the game is a good one as i'll be willing to give it a go. I will remain skeptical of its release and playability unitl then.

So the 17 minute video get Darkfall from 6.94 to 6.97......and you dont like it??? And that have to be a vandalized and trashed hype meter. Why not tell the WAR community that instead? They got 7.31! Thats when you can talk about a community.

Come on Daarco. Level with me. You really don't see ANYTHING odd about that? Even though it's happened with other games. (See Eve-Online, LOTR, etc) If it's wrong when other game fans do it, why isn't it wrong when DF fans do it?
Stuff like that is why no one with any real common sense takes the ratings here serious. Same with the readers choice awards they do, each year.

I'm anticipating this game as much as the next guy, but a silly hype rating doesn't mean anything. I find that most of the time an actual rating doesn't mean much either...

i think the admin messed with the ratings because darkfall rating dropped pretty fast
It has been said before, many times:
When Darkfall gets released and IF it turns out to be any good, only THEN might it deserve some attention.
Maybe I have ADD, but my attention span for any game runs out after about 4 or 5 years...
not to crash the party, but Darkfall went in the number one spot because WAR went to live release to day....they went from the hype meter to the rank meter.
Besides, this is kinda entertaining. Darkfall is the only game I have ever seen here on mmorpg.com where they make such a big deal with the hypemeter.
If they are number one, then they are l33t and every other game sucks.
If they are number two, then the staff here at mmorpg.com hacked the hypemeter to make the game look bad.
Very interesting phenomon (sp). Whatever the case, the current state of mind of many darkfall fans (not all) makes it so that people are not going to want to play the game. Many of you guys are really "weird" concerning your passions about the game and your pure consuming hatred towards those who think otherwise. Im sure people are not going to want to participate in a MMO community that acts like that.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
As real Darkfall fanboy I'm so happy to see it to number one in Hype meter, and also hope it will not disappoint us all the real fans of reall MMOs.
Where themepark games try to hide that they are copying WOW, games like Mortal Online and Darkfall make no attempt to hide their inspiration

Well besides darkfall none of these live up to the minimum requirements I have for a mmorpg:
1) No instances.
2) full loot.
3) collision detection + friendly fire.

I think at this point the community is doing far more damage to the game then the apparent lack of anything from adventurtine could have ever done. Game looks like it could be good, or it might be bad, but the only thing that is certain is the community looks awful.

yea it really just shows how bad the Darkfall community is that they have to cheat to make there game ranked higher. How many of these people will spend their time in Darkfall finding ways to dupe gold and use exploits to their advantage? A whole lot I bet.
Highly amusing, very. A hype meter does it's job the sore loosers posting here just look the part, it scares me to think what would happen if they ever lost playing a game.

Darkfalls hype have not increased, its all other that have decreased. And we cant blaim the DF community for that!
And dont forget that Forumfall hates MMORPG.com´s PvE mentality and wouldent care to hype it.
If you have done the research, maybe you can tell me which ones have no instances + full loot? I might check them out..
How is it dumb to promote player skill and team coordination in pvp, and make zerking less viable?
In all other mmorpgs you can usually stack on top of eachother, and AOE nuke without hurting your friends, and maybe even have some no-skill features like an assist button you press to target the same person as your main-assist. This requires absolutely no skill or coordination, and promotes zerking.
