All there is too it. Im sure 99% of people who played it would agree but are too busy having fun playing to take the time to post. So don't listen to all the negative ninnys and try the game out. I recommend this game for anyone who values fun above all other game apsects.

your right! WAR rocks, WAAAAAAGH!!!
war is COOL!
It's hard to keep out of the game, and post on forums... when it's this nifty!
yeah i like it as well, the game seems to get even better the higher you go into the game like the public quests at the start are the basic:
kill mass amounts of guys,....kill honor guard (tougher small group),..... then hero
but then it gets more complex gradually like defence of a target.... and so on (only starting high elf chapter 4)
High elf areas to me seem better for leveling, it doesn't have that dirty feel like the humans
the only problem i see is that they need to raise the population cap for the servers its too low and animations could use some more work
Yup, that was my first impression as well. And I love the nitty, gritty feeling it has compared with other games. There is allot of flavor to it.
Looking forward to play again tonight after workings. ^_^
My brand new bloggity blog.
My first impressions ( lvl 8) is allso pretty nice. Graphic and animation is not impressive, but its not that important when you start playing with other players and the public tests chapters unfolds. We where 5 ( i think) Bright Wizards ( seems very popular) and a Lion warrior thingie and a healer, doing a public quest with some bosses at the end. Was defenately a fun experience standing in a Wizard crowd which constantly blows up ( Bright Wizards "overloads" - the more they cast, the more dmg and higher critchance they have, but at the same time they start blowing up frequently, harming themself:p).
Graphic does disapoint me abit. I dont understand why a mmo in 2008 dosnt look better then this. Scrolling far out helps abit, getting the polygons and textures on a distance, it seems to blend abit better. On the other hand; Age of Conans highly praised graphic didnt impress me the slightes either. But maybe that was more a design then a tech thing.
The Major thing which favor this game vs Age of Conan, is that it actually have "carrots". At least in the beginning ( i hope it continues) there is this urge for doing more, "just one more level" so that new skill unlocks. I bet it will be even more addictive after 11.
So far a nice beginning. Im Optimistic.
At level 21 it is safe to say this game kicks ass and delivers for sure.
I am level 17 atm, and i am having a blast - Atm, i am allmost not doing any quests ( Not because questing isnt fun , thay actually handeled that part pretty well imo )
I am just running the Dwarf Vs. Green Skins T2 Scenario over and over - Its giving me about 13k Xp every run ( When we win ofc )
But im also liking those public quests, thats for sure something i haven't seen before, and i really like it.
I hate to admit it, but I'm enjoying WAR.... for now.
I was pretty outspoken about how bland and boring it all was. The whole "Nothing new to see here, move along" approach.
But, fortune dealt me a winning hand and I got a Collector's Edition for Free, so I figured, what the hell. Installed, activated, and went to it.
I can say I'm drawn to continue playing. That's something a lot of games can't do off the bat.
I'm playing a Which Hunter, currently lvl 12. So I'm playing on the losing side, since Destruction wins everything on my server.
I still find it entertaining. Few negatives though... It does feel like Alliance v Horde all over again. (at least to me, cause my WoW server, Alliance can't win a BG to save their lives..) So, losing every Scenario and getting rolled in every RVR area (I play on an open server btw) gets old after awhile. If this is how it is on other servers, I can see a lot of people getting pissed and either a) leaving b) rolling Destro and having nobody to PvP against.
While the graphics are "OK" they really lack the "cleanness" of WoW. I know everybody say WAR > WoW in graphics. I'll agree, if all we're talking about is Trees... Everything else in WAR looks dated, washed out, blurry, and otherwise low quality. (and yes, I have a top end gaming rig, with everything maxed.)
But, Graphics Don't Make Game Play... So, I just hope there's enough to keep everybody busy in less than 2 weeks when the majority of people are rolling around at lvl 40.
If anything, I'll enjoy my 30 days while waiting for the LOTRO expansion!
Hey TSW Players http://www.unfair.co/ for Mission guides, Lore Locations and stuff....
Half of WAR rocks!!!
those Order meatbags suk
I had the same thing happening in my server...
However there are some tactics how to do good on T1 RvR as a realm.
1) When it's all red in the RvR lake that usually means that Destro is somewhere else. Get a small band (3-4 7+ ranks will suffice) and steal those bases before they catch wind of what is going on. We encounter maybe 1 or 2 of them on the way and killing bosses is easy if you got a tank. Remember to defend flags for 3 minutes after capture because after that time you get a grace period of 15 minutes they can't take it over.
This will help your realm both in renown and influence bonuses as well as morale - I noticed people fight better in scenarios when they see that it's not all red across all tiers.
2) Make a guild and start gathering RvR minded individuals. Open RvR is a group affair because you can't take those mobs alone. A good guild that concentrates its efforts can make huge server-wide difference as I've seen personally.
In fact I think I'll post this advice as a separate thread. Too many order seem to have "shakey legs" with regards to RvR.
yup really enjoying the game and see this being my home for along time .
people who complain about graphics should think over it alittle more . the games been designed for mass pvp . high end graphics would = lagg no matter how good you think your system is and also im guessing when we filled in those beta forms with dxdiag logs mythic relised that if the went for advanced graphics they would cut out a huge portion of potential customers which would have made no sense for a company trying to make a profit . just to apease a few who are privledged to own a high end rig .
loving going through the chapters and jumping into scenerios atm and cant wait to delve into the tier 4 rvr when i eventually get there . awesome game thank you mythic
