The game starts offically yesterday(or is it today i havent a clue) and the servers are down in the morning till lunchish...are these guys serious???
What ever happened to server time down in the early morning hours.....of course if theres a probelm then thats different but i havent been able to find anything about a problem.
Carnt they pay there guys a little overtime?
Shall we have a whip round for them and send them a cheque?

i predict alot of crying over nothing in your future . did you come from wow boards ? . the servers wouldent be down if it wasent needed go get a few extra hours sleep

the servers are back up at lunchtime.

really the whole point of the post is wasted on you but never mind im sure some who have a couple of brain cells, will think it strange they take down the servers at this time unless there is a problem

The reason the servers are down in these pre-noon hours is because most people is working/in school right now and thus it makes sense to have maintenance when the fewest players are online.

all the ones i play they take them down in the early hours not in the morning..youll learn about it just stick around

its you who is trolling man . you where hoping to reel in few hate posts because the servers are down for abit . as i say go get some sleep . wash the car or something constructive till you can play again instead of posting a pointless complaint over a needed maintenance . no way the servers would be down if goa had any choice

I see downtime on games quite often at the time war is going down.. especially during weekdays for the reason pointed out by Thekandy
your being silly...read what you posted and you will see the error of your post the way you talk to people is very disrespectful

For example, Eve Online goes down everyday at midday, so 'youll learn about it just stick around

I don't understand why a European server goes down at 9am BST even though it could go down at say 5am or 6am which, surely has a lot less people wanting to play the game, definatly if they weren't able to go to the shops yesturday, go when the shops open(9am) come home to play as Friday is amazingly quite a fews day off, and find the servers down for who knows how many hours.
Also whats lunchtime to a developer? Is that like 6pm as they are working to hard to remember to have lunch until this time? hehe. 'Lunch time' seems a little obicuos, as the time could mean anything from 11am to about 3pm, in my mind anyways lol.
has anyone found out if theres a problem? or will they be doing this as a normal course

isnt eve that game they had to let people play for free :P
On Eve its only a 14 day trial, then its sub based from then on, so no its not free to play.
It says short maintenance, as the post about it went up after the hotmail thing, maybe its to sort that out, but I don't know why they would make the game server go down because of that though. Seems puzzling as the American Server isn't down aswell?
Maybe the French Devs don't start work till 10am CET, maybe thats it lol
yes i looked at the americam servers and they were ok..thats why i posted in here, but from a couple of the replys this is normal for a online game:P
Don't go talking to me as if i was new to this genre, cause i'm really not, been playing mmos for a good 6 years.
It's just common sense to put the downtimes where the least people will get affected while still not expecting your staff to meet in at 3-4 am for the preparations so they can begin taking the servers down at 7 am.
No, 10 am is a pretty reasonable time to take the servers down and i'll bet on that most games who do it in mornings do it because their time zones look a tad different.
yeah they did it on purpose because they want to annoy you and make you leave. They don't want us to play there game, after all thats how business is run right? work hard on a game for years and then put severs down on purpose to make customers go away.

While this maintenance schedule may seem to you rather odd, it is infact not uncommon especially for a game, as you rightly mention, that released officially yesterday.
From my own experiences a large number of the MMO's do or have had maintenance and patching during daylight hours. Yes it can be a nusance if, like me, you happen to be working tonight but from what I have seen from GOA is if they say lunch time they mean it.

So I managed at last to get a copy of the game, installed, patched it etc etc and as soon as i created my char servers went down
I knew about it, i dont complain I just hoped I would have my first ingame experience before the maintenance.
Anyway to make my post a bit more constitutive it's logical and acceptable to have often downtimes during the first release days. Did i mention it's anavoidable too?
But i have the solution, I can bring the servers back online! They mentioned something about lunchtime, right? So I'm gonna have lunch RIGHT NOW and in 20 minutes voila! CU ingame in 20 mins, lads.
