Does it get harder after trial island?

If so, by how much?

I got a warrior up to level 5 and was pretty bored. I rarely got to use any other attack than the autoattack before the mob died. So I created a psionicist and took off all her armor and run around naked in order to get any challenge. If I get attacked by more than 5 mobs or so there is actually a good chance I will die. So far Vanguard 1-7 on the trial island is easier than WoW 1-7.

Other than it being so easy, and no sign of group content, so far the game is great. I'm very tempted to buy it, but if I am going to get to max level in a month, naked...I'm not even going to waste my time.

Sure the Trial island is much much much easier than the rest of the game. The trial island is for the players to learn to all the ways of play, but in the real greatest world you will find more challenges than in the island, I´m sure.

Depends what you mean, solo stuff (2 dot) is pretty easy.

IoD doesn't have many 3 dots (hard soloing/duo, except for the last boss) and no group mobs (4 dots). Its design to be an easy introduction to the game.

VG is definately a group orientated right upto 50th and raiding.

Whilst you can solo to 50th, the best experience/loot is in grouping.

Grouping starts around 12th in VG, when you get all the necessary abilities.

As for soloing, try and find 3 dot mobs, they are a challenge on your own (not many on IoD).

Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve

I play a 50 warrior and they are by far the most intense tanks I've played.  In EQ1 you got aggro then started watching TV.  In VG, you are totally engaged and its intense.  I have 4 banks of hotkeys and I'm not overwhelmed.  The game grows and grows.  Strap in johnny and get ready.

If you try the trial island just activate it to a full account.  You will not be charged for the game.  You will only be charged for the subscription.  Nice perk, you no longern eed to buy the game.

The first 5 levels on trial island are real easy and super fast.  But then again what game doesn't start you out easy.  By lvl 10 gameplay on the isle is getting tougher and when you leave the isle you get exposed to your first group dungeons.  In fact after lvl 10 or so dungeons are generally all group oriented.

It gets proportionally harder as you level up.

Hey there. If you stick with Vanguard, I do highly recomend the Seradon server and the guild Stormhaven.

They are a very active bunch in raiding and trade skill. Very helpfull and mature. www.stormhavenguild.com

They will welcome you. I have played with them since my days in EQ2.

Well I reached 10, and did that dungeon with a full group...was still easy, but I did need to put clothes on my psi sadly :P

I am sticking with VG for sure though, it's the first MMO in ages I've actually wanted to keep playing and go into work a bit late for. I am on the Seradon server too, i'll look them up.

The dungeons get harder. While there still are some easy dungeons, or parts of a dungeon. You will see more harder ones. But you wont need, or should, buy a new copy of Vanguard. Just subscribe to the game and it lets you in.

Now when they released Isle of Dawn SOE made the gameclient "free". Meaning that after a trial you only need to subscribe to get the game, making your account marked as having the game. And as with SWG you can't upgrade the account anymore and get the 30days on an account where you already have the game.

I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.

The dungeon on IoD is not a group dungeon.  You can solo that one pretty easily.  The dungeons on the mainland around lvl 15+ are group dungeons.  This means full of 4 dot mobs with some 5 dot boss mobs.
