Minor complaints about WAR

1. Registration. It was a bitch. It tells me the verification code is case sensitive, you know the fuzzy text you have to copy to prevent hacks and bots. But the little case x looked just like the big case X, and so did a lot of other letters. Not all letters are like a Q and a q, some are like an S and an s, and when it's fuzzy, who can tell the difference?

Finally I got the code right, and then the ID number is wrong. Because guess what? Although the verification is case sensitive, the code has to be entered in all lower case, although on the box it's all in upper case. Wow, what genius came up with that?

2. Dwarfs suck, just like I thought they would. I wanted to play order, cause I like to be the good guys. And I wanted to play a tank, so I wouldn't die instantly. What's my choice? A dwarf iron breaker. Why do I hate short avatars? Because you can't see a freakin' thing when you're short. I have to constantly pan up to see anything, especially walking up stairs or a hill, even a low hill, and it's claustrophobic and frustrating. I'd much rather be 10 feet tall, adn be able to see where I'm going without panning up all the time.

3. Instanced battleground was laggy. Some naked elf chicks kept stabbing me in the back, while I could hardly move around in the middle of the fray because it was laggy. Maybe my connection, or computer, and not the game though.

 4. Edit: oh yea, there were some minor bugs. I'd complete a quest, but it wouldn't give me the reward, because it said I needed to pick which reward I wanted. I DID pick which one, but it still couldn't complete the quest. But I came back later and it worked. A

Also, animations hung up sometimes. I"d be reading a book, and then instead of walking or running, I'd be sliding across the landscape still reading a book or something like that. Minor, but kinda annoying.

But, all in all, WAR is a winner. It's fun right out of the box. Why did I find this game fun, and VAnguard a piece of junk when it released? I don't know, and it's really kinda hard to put my finger on exactly what the difference is, but WAR has captured "it", it being fun. The game is just fun.

It was really cool to engage in PvP right off the bat, and not wait till end game like in DAoC.

However, why did Destruction keep kicking our arses? I did the battleground thing, I think it was Erkund like 3 times in a row, and my side would get like 100 something points, and Destruction would get like 500 something points every time. We really sucked.

Oh well, there's always the next battle I suppose. I also picked a server that needed Order players, and order is a bit outnumbered, but I don't mind that part, and it may level out later.

    I love my Rune Priest.

Also, The Gate Scenario: You can win with the 2 outter points and just ignore the central one. Thats how we kept winning last night.

Oh, and TEAMWORK. That one is important. Even in a scenario PUG, you just type /sc and say "HEY HEAL ME!" and guess what... a heal you shall have.

Well, it was my first time playing, and there wasn't any team work on my side, so I"m not surprised we got slaughtered. It's MUCH better if you join as a group and you've worked together, I"m sure.

But as far as the Dwarfs go, it's not the looks, or the classes, it's just the height. You get in a tight battle, and all you see is knees. Again, IMO, very claustrophobic. If they were 6 feet taller, they'd be perfect.

This has happened to me many times, and has always been because my inventory was too full for quest rewards.

Thanks for the tip. In the future if it happens, I'll check my inventory and make sure there's some room left.

Come to think of it... when there are 4 black orcs beating down on your tank... it is hard to find him to target him to heal him...

Ok, now you have me wanting taller dwarves
