     heheh totally agree. :)

I'd never be caught dead playing a sandbox no matter if it was the perfect game for me.  Simply because i don't want to be around the sandbox gamers.

There is so much wrong with this lineage of posts.

First of all, I'm neither troll nor fanboy.  I really don't care if this game succeeds or fails, but I would like to point out what is wrong here.  Has it occurred to any of you (who are bordering trolling) that the "community" for Darkfall is so rotten because they constantly interact with people trolling?  By trolling them, you have polarized them to a point where their personalities are exaggerated.

As for the final post by Bladin.  I hope you realize how much of what you said is just wrong.  You seriously wouldn't play a sandbox game because of the community?  I don't think you've ever played an MMO before.  Just for comparison, UO and SWG (two sandbox games) had GREAT communities.  SWG wasn't that great of a game, but the community was what kept the game going for a while (until SOE killed it).  Now let's look at non-sandbox games.  I'll take WoW as an example because it is the most successful and is a great representative of the opposing play-style.  The WoW community is generally looked at as pretty childish (Barrens Chat anyone?).  Now, I will admit that I'm being a bit misleading, but I think you get the point.  Communities in sandbox games and non-sandbox games are actually pretty similar.  There are always going to be the elitists, casual players, friendly people, gankers, etc.  You claiming that sandbox games aren't worth playing because of the community just shows that you are trolling and most likely have never played a sandbox game.

i did AOC and loved it great graphics and great action combat .....but no end goal .;no reason past 80

am doing war atm ..and bored already its great  R v R but its just like WOW

Yeah just like when EA bought out UO from Origin and made it carebear instantly.

Darkfall isn't for sell cause developers made the game for themself as much as for others.

That's being serious about you're game.

Noone thought why they is selfpublishing? To keep control of the game of course.

Having a carebear company like Blizzard get their teeths on Darkfall would destroy the game.

    Carebear in a month.

Yeah, Darkfall seemed like a cool idea until I found out what its community was like. Time to get back to the warrior priest, I guess.

True. The one's waiting for Darkfall is the oldtimers that been through playing both good and bad MMORPG games.

The newer generation of MMORPG players wouldnt recognize a good game even if it landed in their knees.

They just dont have the experience needed.

I mean they call a game like WoW a good game?

    Amazing.

Personally, I have played many MMORPGs that the gaming industry has to offer. Maybe not all of them out there, but some of them. I can honestly say, Each one has unique attributes about them that appeal to different people with different tastes.Thats why there are so many of them. On the arguement of, "Blizzard buying out Darkfall" which is made by the company, AVENTURINE.  I think that would kind of be unrealistic. Thats like saying, "Coca-cola should buy out a new coffee drink that Starbucks came out with." The way I see it, the kind of games Blizzard produces, such as WoW, are not anything like Darkfall, at all. Adventurine is really going for something different than, what is out there on the MMORPG market as of now. Now I am not going to waste everyone's valuable time here and go down the list of everything that Darkfall has to offer compared to WoW, or any other MMORPG out there for that matter. If you want to know exactly what all it details, go to their site, http://www.darkfallonline.com/, and you will see what I am relating to. Dont get me wrong, I am not at all saying that Darkfall is going to be the "perfect game" and will revolutionize the MMORPG market. But as of the other previous comments stated by others, I think Darkfall has got some really great potential in its future. Adventurine is the company responsible for it. Not Blizzard. And I think it should stay that way.

A very sensible post. Well done sir. Yes there will be all types in Darkfall just like there are in all other games but one thing I've noticed over the years is that PvP centric games usually have a somewhat more mature community by necessity. If someone acted like some do in WoW they would be ganked continueusly. The threat of being ganked for being a rude little shit usually keeps people in line a little better than in PvE games. This is true whether the game is Sandbox or Linear. This is why I have always mostly preferred PvP games.

Oh and one more thing... If you want to see blind rabid fanboyism at it's finest go and check out Bladin's posts in the WAR forum. They are a real hoot!

this is exactly what i mean, you see it as a fact that WoW is for noobs and that the game sucks

granted i never played WoW people have different tastes (said by a DF supporter) and u gotta respect that. you are just screaming to get flamed by wow fans, they yell at u.. u yell back.. ow suprise another flamewar at the DF forums

    MMOs currently playing: -
About to play: Lord of the Rings Online
Played: Anarchy Online (alltime favorite) and lots of f2p titles (honorable mentions: 9Dragons, Martial Heroes, Dekaron, Atlantica Online)

I wouldnt be surprised if the "new" "secret" mmo that curently blizard works on would be a Darkfall rip off.

Blizard does not have any need to buy off anyone they are masters in implementing other companies ideas to their own games,so if darkfall manages to sell and "open" the market they are gona take the core of it and build something similar.

Blizzard will invest in game that they will be shure that will gain great profit. If such game will gain such profit it have to be accessible for the masses - simple and easy to play. Do you want such game? I personnaly prefer real deep mmo...

Where themepark games try to hide that they are copying WOW, games like Mortal Online and Darkfall make no attempt to hide their inspiration

    Not a chance in hell!

I would put my house on it. Why would a company like blizzard want a small profit making indie game? games like this will need devs who love thier game and dream about making it a sucess. Blizzard need games that are easily acessable and easy to maintain.

The problem is that alot of us Darkfall supporters most likely played 1st gen sandbox MMO's. Anything after that pretty much completely missed us out in terms of what we enjoyed, so we might sometimes get a little over-excited that finally a game with us in mind is coming close to completion.

Calling players of other games, people who enjoy other games, brainless, idiotic, lazy, and tasteless is not getting overexcited. It's rude, uncalled for and speaks volumes for the community this game seems to attract.

I don#t mind people who want to enjoy this game and get excited about it. It#s the people who raise themselves above all others and their better than thou attitude that irks me.

I don't see the relevance of this statement sure it has lot's of buzz but *shrugs* no more so than Aion or some other games out there, maybe you are a Blizzard fan and are buying into the hype of the game as as well so you personally see it as a good idea but I for one hopes blizzard stays as far away from this game as possible as the design philosphies they follow don't appeal to me so here's one vote agains your idea.

but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

I have to agree with this statement. One of the things that added to the potential of DarkFall for me atleast was the fact they weren't going with any of the Big name publishers. At this point if Blizzard, SOE or EA or any similar company were to pick up DarkFall I would think twice about playing. Sandbox MMO's just aren't there thing in my opinion. The things they have had there hand in were changed into a more controlled version which is the polar opposite of what a Sandbox needs to be.
