I still don't understand why you are complaining over that i haven't played the game enough when i ONLY said things that i have experienced and that is gonna be the same even if i where level 50.

Like the graphics and the design. The character customization. The controls. The interface (Aye, i din't know you could modify it already so i'll drop that). The orc language (ofcourse the develpoers can spell, i was just beeing sarcastic but some of you din't seem to understand that).

It doesn't matter that i only scratched the surface of WAR because all these things don't need to be played much to be judged.

If i would talk about how bad the PVP was, how unballanced the game felt, how boring a class would be and stuff like that then you have the right to complain because you NEED to have played the game much more before talking about that. But i didn't.

So chill god damit... This is not a review or anything close. It's just my first impression. How hard can it be to understand that?

You know what the problem is with a lot of blind WAR players? Not all thankfully....

This sentence I picked up in that other thread "facts":

"....because I was just so sh*t bored with WoW that any fresh experience is going to be magnificent.... "

This is exactly what happens to these guys. Hardly "objective" would you say :)))

They would have liked the first dead meat offered to them on their way out ....

It happened to Conan, it happened to LOTRO, it happens to WAR.

You and I see what they fail to see themselves :  they are even more hooked on Wow then they realise.

yes Wow. Love and hate : we all know they lay  just next to each other.

Don't discuss ..... rather help these poor guys.

Remember my old saying: Every copy of WAR sold is free publicity for WoTLK.

Well I couldn't say it then, (no use explaining this on launch) but now you know what I mean.

Yes WAR is that "any fresh experience", and they think it is maginificent until the cooldown period which will happen in a few days time.

"Glasses and a false beard to queue up  in line for Nov 13 are still available."

Don't take one person's quote and apply it to all of the WAR fans.  That is just ignorant.  What you don't see is that many of the fans of WAR have hated WoW for over 2 years.  They wouldn't come back with any expansion ever.  Most of them are people who played MMO's before WoW and going into WoW was like going from a state fair to a playground in their friends backyard.  I guess you wouldn't understand.

If you categorize me again It will upset me.

    I did say "not all".

But in the same way you also agree " many fans of WAR have hated WoW for over 2 years.... "etc ....

These are the same guys who wonder from MMO to MMO, searching and searching and in the end not finding anything. You yourself was all over AoC I saw AND have enjoyed Wow a lot back then.

I never talk in terms of "hate" over a game. Very odd to do that. You can say you don't like it, or some or a lot of elements of it. But hate ???.

You all seem to be on a mission to hail the new MMO and "hate" an old love. I don't get that.

Of course you get my attention because I don't want my game to be spit on.

But I think there is a lot of truth in what I said above (in fact it was what the man himself said that proved the theory).

I really think your "hate" takes over from "ltrying too much to love" and turns into almost fanatical believing. Losing all objective judgement.

I know you did post some comments, but ...the moment you see that 3 letter word ....

oh well Have a nice day in WAR

I think that sometimes we gamers get entirely too defensive about the games we love...but then, I suppose a game wouldn't be worth damn near giving up any sense of a normal life if we didn't feel that strongly about it.

First of all, I'm not a Warhammer "fanboi" or hater.  I'm just a guy waaay too addicted to games, always looking for that game to be worth all my time, along with my $15/mo.  I think that the OP has some good points, and I think the guys that (not so subltely) disagreed with him do as well.

A first impression is just that...a first impression.  Many decisions in life are made based off of one.  Have you ever met a girl (or if you are a girl, a guy) for the first time, and the way she looked, things she said, way she acted, in that first meeting either turned you off or made you want to stay all day/night?  I would go as far as to say that all of us have, because that is what makes you decide if you want to see her (him) again or not.  When you have gone to buy a car, you either saw something that drew you to it, or not.  I doubt that you saw that car and was like, "Man, that is the ugliest car I have ever seen," and then come back tomorrow and the next day to see if your mind or taste had changed.  That is because first impressions matter.  This OP had a negative first impression, most of you had a positive one.  There is nothing wrong with that.  How dare you tell him that he needs force himself to play longer to understand his first opinion?  If he played longer, then it would no longer be his first, it would be his second, third, fourth, or some other revised opinion.

Now, I can understand you all that have seen more of the game so you know that his concerns eventually get resolved, or feel that some of his opinions are un-justified, such as saying that the devs can't spell (that really was pretty ridiculous), and explaining those things is good because maybe that will give him something to look forward to.  But we as gamers really do need to learn how to talk to each other...  I am pretty sure that in real life, many of us wouldn't talk to each other the way we do here (if you catch my drift).

I personally had a bad first impression of Warhammer myself.  I didn't like the way the controls felt, they felt extremely sluggish to me.  I think they have sped them up and they feel much better now.  I truly dislike the character creation.  However, someone explained earlier something I didn't understand which was the problem with greater customization choices and lag once you have 200 people on a screen.  I thank you for that, it helped me understand much better and I struck that off of my list.  However, there are still some things that have nothing to do with lag...I'm a black man.  I see my characters as an extension of myself.  I am somewhat offended that being a "human", I can not be a man of color...I wonder how difficult that would have been to implement.  I think that the classes and races should be more balanced.  As it is now, I feel like I don't have many choices in anything...  What if I am devoted to the Order, but I want to dual-wield?  What if I want to be an orc, but I want to shoot a bow?  The combinations of what if's could go on and on and some, I can understand it is for the integrity of the lore...I understand that witch-elves can only be girl characters because their god only wants female wives...that makes sense to me, I feel the same as him.  But with those locks, it gives me a very "closeted" feeling.  I hope they implement the classes that got cut pretty soon because one of my initial turn-offs was trying to find a class that I even like to play.  With the way Warhammer purposely pushes one side to hate the other, I don't see too many that are really into the game, playing both sides...I mean who wants to be a traitor?  So it is very difficult for me to find something I like, given the fact that I really want to fight for Order and I want my character to in some way feel like it represents me.

I just noticed that this was almost getting to article length, so I am going to cut this here...maybe I will write an article on this.  You guys be easy.

Actually I have played almost every MMO I have been able to get my hands on since EQ.  I always play an MMO and I find games all the time.  I had a blast with AoC for the first 3 weeks.  Same with WoW.  I had fun in almost all of them.  What I dislike about WoW is the direction they took their PvP and end game.  What I dislike about AoC is that the end game is unfinished, and it only takes a couple weeks to get there.  There are things I dislike about WAR as well and I don't know how long I will stay.

I never talk in terms of "hate" over a game. Very odd to do that. You can say you don't like it, or some or a lot of elements of it. But hate ???.

I am not on a mission to hail WAR.  Other than having a very good first impression, and relaying that I have been critical of WAR, and have even agreed with people who dislike WAR.  What I am on a mission to do, and you will find this about every MMO at launch, is to protect the forums from trolls of other games who spread misinformation, lies, and give reviews when they have clearly never even tried the game.

Of course you get my attention because I don't want my game to be spit on.

I only spit on WoW when someone trolls another game and is a blatant WoW fanboy, or compares in error a game with WoW.  I agree with plenty of WoW fans and have many real life friends who love WoW.  I will even play it on their pc's at lan parties for the hell of it.

But I think there is a lot of truth in what I said above (in fact it was what the man himself said that proved the theory).

I really think your "hate" takes over from "ltrying too much to love" and turns into almost fanatical believing. Losing all objective judgement.

You couldn't be more incorrect.  I don't hate WoW or Blizzard.  I love Blizzard, but I don't like WoW in it's current state.

I know you did post some comments, but ...the moment you see that 3 letter word ....

... and Ryzom, and CoD4, and Lineage 2.  Thanks I will.

You would do really well to read what you wrote to yourself and think about how you are acting, and have been acting.  You sir are on the WAR forums not the WoW ones.  Have you ever seen me go to the WoW forums and say anything bad against that game?  No.  I certainly don't show off my lack of information and lie about it.

Seriously read what this person has written?

If you consider this to be a good post about war then you may as well join him.

I'm moaning because i din't get what i wanted? Yeah sure, you can say that but i still don't see why my opinion is so bad that people have the right to tell me to f**k off?

If i would have written good things about the game insted, with my current experience and level 6 character, the replys would be totally different only because i write things you want to hear.

It's just childish not to respect ones opinion when i clearly explains it.

And you are complaining about my post? I honestly can't see any point or argument in yours...

You are an excellent example of your own quote.

I really hate those who come around and say something as stupid as, "At end game it gets funny!111"

Yeah like anyone would want to play for a few weeks before having fun....

If the game doesn't catch on within the next 20 mins, it has failed.  You never get a second chance for a first impression, when will mmorpg companies figure this one out? Apart from Blizzard of course, they actually did know how to make a proper mmorpg, which didn't need 3 months after release to make it fun from lvl 1 to cap lvl

First of all, I'm not defending this OP, I am defending any and all people who have opinions that are different from yours or anyone else's.  I did read what he wrote, did you?  He wasn't, from what I could tell, comparing WAR to WoW, he was simply stating why he wasn't liking the game.  Sure, people at any point have the right to tell someone to F off, in the same token, the OP has a right to try a game, get to level 3, decide that he doesn't like it, and tell it to F off, as well as anyone who is so arrogant as to think that they can tell him that he "has" to play longer to know whether he likes it or not.  It's his opinion and as these are open forums, he has the right to voice his opinion.

The other point that I was making is that, we gamers have a bad tendecy of not speaking on differences of opinion in an intellectual, or well thought out way (although we are considered to be the nerds and the geeks of the world...go figure), far too many resolve themselves to simply flaming someone, calling them an idiot, of telling the to F off, or what have you.  Why?  Besides not having anything intelligent to respond back with.

You went so far as to say that the OP didn't explain anything, I beg to differ.  However, in your, oh so thought out response, what have you explained?  "Comparing war to wow... on what? the op has not explained anything, just moaning because he didn't get what he wanted, i don't know, its just a pathetic post..."  That didn't explain how or why the OP's post was pathetic, what's more is that as far as I'm concerned, you are wrong, he wasn't comparing the game to WoW, he simply said he expected controls like WoW.

...anyhow, if you think that someone has a wrong impression of something and you want them to understand your point, don't you think it would just be better to explain what they are possibly missing, rather than calling them a n00b, which just makes you sound like an idiot?

It's a bit funny because i clearly said that i just wrote about my first impression of the game and i don't see how you can whine about that? But then again, some gets mad because you have a diffrent opinion than they have...

Then don't write another "first impression" of any game. And don't write "last impressions" about anything either.
