Hi all

Just downloaded the game and was wondering if there is a recomended server to start on? also if anyone knows any links to some up to date information/guides that would be good as most I see is about 3-4 years old.

Well, I haven't really had a chance to start playing it recently, but I know that Frostfell is the most popular white (non-pvp) world. It's the one that I'm planning on playing. Morningthaw would be the second highest I believe.

 

Darktide (the pvp world) has the highest population of the servers, but unless you like hearing trash talking teens stroke each other's egos, I would go elsewhere :P. They're not very friendly to new members either.

 

Anyway, hope you enjoy yourself, whatever you choose .

Who knows. I haven't played for years.. I am from the Golden Years of AC.

Depends on if  you want pve or pvp... If you can handle hardcore pvp, then start on Darktide. IF your a bit more fair natured then frost fell is your best bet.

As of March (last time I tried the game) Maggie the jackcat's site was still up to date. Id google it and see what you can find. She pretty much updates the quests every patch, but her site takes a bit of getting used to, to navigate correctly.

VN boards used to be a pretty good place to find a good alliegance and such, but that may have changed with the new turbine forums.

I'd recommend trying the pve servers first, that will give you a chance to learn the game, find hunting spots, and plan your toon a bit. Then if your feeling frisky try out DT.... just make sure you can take a verbal beating by a 12 year old with a level 200 character who enjoys the sounds you make then he cuts your level 2 ass in half. Once you get passed that... DT is a hoot, and once you level up a bit, you can at least put up a fight.
