Some people like TR and shower it with praise.
Some people dislike TR and leave the game.
And then there is the very small population of players who have made it a goal in life to crusade against the game. They get satisfaction by jumping on every new player to dissuade them from playing, or responding to any positive feedback to point out the flaws, and even spending time creating their own "Doom & Gloom" threads to serve their own fanatic desires.
You people are crazy. If you hate the game, why post? why respond? why take so much interest in a game you do not play?
Rant about the demise of TR all you want... if it happens, you'll be the first to say "I called it!"... if it doesn't happen, you'll just keep saying it will until it does or you lose interest, which ever happens first.

Ive tried the game and i enjoyed it tbh. Then again i am easily amuzed so i dunno lol. I didnt stay for long because i am already playing what i consider the best game (EvE).
I think most people were pissed because of the hype it got due to Garriot's BS. I am one of those people that think that hes the main reason the game didnt reach what it was hyped to. Mismanagement of funds at its best, and NC Soft got the short end of the stick with a game that could have easily been revolutionary and groundbreaking and fell short.
Either case i have seen the improvements the devs have done on the game and i like them. I hope that the game will be more succesful cuz as in any game its always more fun to play with lots of people.
You mean, mmorpg ought to be more like planet(censors R us)tr?
I am not sure RG is or was the problem but you are right in my opinion it could have been huge, but it failed to do so.
People act like MMORPG is the problem, TR fanboys MMORPG does not hate yout favorite game, no website hates it, they pan it because it lacks nearly every element of an MMORPG and still tries to sell itself as one.
PTR would have the same complaints but they simply ban the unhappy posters.
To anwser your questions:
Q: If you hate the game, why post?
A: Because we feel like we spent money on this game and didn't get what we paid for. We post here both to complain about that fact, to warn other people to avoid the same fate we had to suffer and to hope that maybe someday the game will get better. Most of us do not "hate" the game itself. We wanted the game to be good! It just isn't...
Q: Why Respond?
A: Because in general that is the purpose of a forum. If you don't want people to give you feedback on your opinions then I would suggest that you post them on your friends-only blog, rather than on a public forum.
Q: Why take so much interest in a game you do not play?
A: Because we DID play it at one time and some of us devoted large amounts of time to it. The game itself is a subject that still is of interest to us even if we are not willing to pay a monthly fee to log into it.
The History of the Order of The Golden Shields
I love this game. I was in closed beta and all that. Back then I thought it was great and would be the next big thing. Then, I saw all the hype it was getting and it eventually lead to disappointment. Im in my third trial and Ive finally decided to buy it after talking to people who have been playing a long time.
This game has great potential, it just needs more support.
It's their forum, not yours. If you read the rules you will understand it. I bet you are one of the people that have been banned maybe?
I personally love the game! I bought WoW back when it was released, don't go to WoW forums to complain that I paid for it but don;t like it. I bought Dark and Light yet I don;t go to their forums to bash it.
Some people are a little unstable and feel that because someone put a gun to their head and were forced to buy TR then that gives them the right to bash it and try to discourage people from trying it out.
Glycol in TR on the Pegasis server.

No one put a gun to my head, but I have every right to tell other possible customers what I as an unhappy explayer think of the game. Just like you have every right to tell them how great you think it is.
PTR goes beyond the rules when it comes to banning negativity. Adele Machka is the worst Mod ever.

It's their forum, not mine. They can set their rules and they can censor posters. And I can call them censors in this forum. It's funny that you come to someplace with very little censorship to complain that I'm complaining about censorship in YOUR forum. Are things getting so lonely and inactive that you're looking for company here?
I tried the trial of this game, but you can't really make any decisions based on a 3 day trial...
The fact that they only offered a 3 day trial sent up red flags for me....i mean what are they trying to hide???
If they have improved the game and wanted to sell more subs, then they have to offer a better trial.
7-14 days is the standard
Actually they should have a longer trial the early part of TR is very good.
Excuse me, do you understand what a forum is? Quite obvious from your comments that you lack the understanding that it is for all opinions whether they be good or bad. You put a forum up, allowing only positive opinions and all you have is a biased advertisment for the game.
You should reconstruct you title to read player complaining because he can't stand negative comments about the game.
Successful troll is successful.
DBACPhoenix is a textbook example of what we call a 'fanboi troll'. When they can't get their fix of validation in other places, they come to a more active hub in need of attention. Notice his lack of response on this forum?
