newbie talents for warlock?

hey im a lvl 12 warlock(blood elf), can anyone tell me what i should be spending my talent points on for leveling and plz give me a brief description why its best for leveling, thanks

I found the best way to go is affliction until about lvl 50, than put your points in for the felguard in the demonology spec.

Solo and group play will typically see Warlocks specced Affliction as Destruction requires a fair amount of gear to make it work effectively and Demonology is really only good for leveling on the PvE side with the Felguard. The standard Affliction spec is 43/7/11 with a focus on your DOTs. Avoid Malediction at the bottom of the Affliction tree as well as Improved Curse of Weakness and Curse of Agony at the top. The Demonology tree will see use from Demonic Embrace and Improved Healthstone, while the Destruction tree adds some direct damage with Improved Shadow Bolt and Bane. Affliction Warlocks typically want to focus on spell damange and HP, with a third focus on their spell hit.

Bottom line; start with Affliction, it's best for PvE Solo/Grouping.

Yeah, the first five points should be in making Corruption an insta-cast spell.   Then Improved drain life and improved mana tap. 

5 Improved Corruption

2 Soul siphon

2 Imp mana tap

1 Supression

5 Fel concentration

At the level you are, you should be leading with Immolate, then Corruption, then Curse of agony, then drain life, drain life, drain life.    After you have 5 points in Imp Corruption(instant cast), then do Immolate, Agony, Corruption.  Agony and Corruption are both insta-cast and agony has a longer effect, so you should cast it first.

The next talent target is the Siphon life talent.  Then your rotation will be Immolate, Agony, Siphon, Corruption, drain life. 

Next talent target is Dark pact.  With dark pact, you will change the way you play.  Before this point, you should be using mostly your VW and have both its taunts on.  After you get dark pact.. you'll be switchig to your imp.   Put him on Phase Shift and turn off firebolt.   Your imp has just become a mana battery.  You will be siphoning enough life from your enemies to keep yourself at full health.. When a fight is done, just hit dark pact (twice) and you are back up to full mana.  I drop Immolate from my rotation, you will kill stuff fast without it and the casting time is annoying.

Next talent target is Unstable Affliction

My rotation is the following.   Note that I'm almost always at full health (which is why I used dark pact BEFORE drain life).  You should always lead with the spell that has the longest casting time.

Unstable Affliction, Curse of Agony, Siphon Life, Corruption, Dark Pact, Dark pact, Drain life, Drain life.  For most questing, this rotation will leave you at full health and full mana at the end of the fight.

I'm going to disagree with the previous poster.. there really isn't anything in the destruction tree that is useful for an Affliction warlock.  Once you get Unstable Affliction, go into Demonology and get the Stamina and INT talents

Purely from a personal perspective, but i have found that it is a waste of time actually picking a spec until you reach L40+ as you don't start to get the major talents until that point. I have always found it more useful to just pick whatever helps the character level at the time and then do a total re-spec between L40-50 to take you forward. But again, each to their own

From lvl 10-30 i would recomend destro s you wont notice improvments in afflic tree till lvl 30+ butt will notice in destro straight away.after lvl 30+ go afflic till lvl 55 then you have two options for lvling afflic or demo and it comes down to personal prefrance then.I lvled 30-70 on my lock useing afflic as i dont like depending on pets also i found afflic to be little faster due to spam doting everything in sight.Rearly lot depends on what you enjoy the most as the talent trees are so difrent.
