today i got WAR and....

im kind of upset. I live in australia and i went home, installed the game without a problem, that was untill the installation had complete and the icon to play WAR was broken. If i clicked on it it only came up with a black box, i was reaaaallly confused so i reinstalled...TWICE :O, anyway i googled for some help and all i got was some info about how EA said they discoverd that there AU and NZ standard edition copies had a corrupt file or something along that line.
Anyway they said that there was a download we could do to fix the problem, i downloaded it...and as soon as i open the download it says error, ra ra ra. on the page of the download many people seem to be having the same problem,. im kinda upset but yea, i just think EA/Mythic should have tested the au/nz version's before shipping them. anyway not trying to bag WAR or anything i just really wanted to play now i guess im gonna have to wait a while untill they come up with a solution.

You could try downloading the beta client from somewhere that should work i think.

hmmm i might try downloading the beta client, but would that have all the files and stuff that the disc's would??

Actually the latest beta download was more complete than the disc version. And the game just patches the beta version up to the live version the first time you start it.

I'll back up the claim the others have said. The Beta Client is very complete and it is self-contained, meaning if you had a big enough flash drive, you can take it anywhere and play anywhere. That is what I'm running right now. Find a place to download the Beta Client and use that. The only thing you'll be missing is the Intro Cinematic... but you could always watch that online somewhere.

i was actually playing tyvm, at my cousins house who braught the collector's edition. he got the early headstart download. so i was actually playing. i rang him earlier 2 see if he could help but he just said wait untill they release a patch. wasnt very helpfull.

My advice... burn his discs. They will install correctly on your PC
I just wish mythic would open downloads to the ISO images of the discs because i have the same problem.

http://www.ebgames.com.au/warhammerfix/ go here downlaod this into the file that u installed the game into then go 2 the file double click on the war patcher and it will unlaod the missing files. then you should see the log in screen, but for it 2 work properly u have 2 restart ur comp. i reinstalled the whole game into a new file so it made it easier 2 do. also if u were in beta or head start you will need 2 hunt down the beta and delete all of it from your comp for war 2 install proply i had this problem also i removed the beta but som files remained...
