way to much drama for one game.

-exo-exo Member Posts: 564

Now i'm a very positive person and very optimistic :) , love variety :D. I have played WoW since phase 3 of beta and quit recently a few months ago. Not by choice of course, haha was addicted untill my motherboard decided to fry on me *rolls eyes* anywho. I got to thinking about wrath and actually reading what other developers are doing with their games. Also even some of the other development teams in Blizzard for such as SC2 and D3.

I can't compare WAR to wow, for i have never played it and it would be a one sided assumption on the play and community for World of Warcraft. Personally,  i think WoW has to much drama for one game alone. Devs makeing strange promises, listening to the fan base, then loseing half and then bringing them back for another whirl .. aka the posts "thinking on returning to WoW" or " should have never left wow" or "AoC major let down" or "WAR horrible horrible game" or "EVE is way to long so i must go back to my "Reality" and play wow" or " lineage is so much of a grind that i want to cry everytime i get tickled" ( lol  :)  ) but really you get the point. There is so much of this for this particular game that it is obviously never old for players. I will not be returning to WoW. Possibly to see what they did for wrath,.. oh wait i played the beta, so nevermind :) .  I refuse to return to a game where the economy controls the game and not the developers. I refuse to return to a game that EVERYTHING is compared to it, even console games! " OH HEY! look the release of fable 2!! " " yeah well, it's not wow" .....

I refuse to return to a game to where people think that because they have a "level 70 on the server illidan in sunwell" they DESERVE a job from my FAST FOOD company because they have potential to become a "hard worker" ... what the hell?? .  As well as those wearing the merchandise of this game not even knowing it's a game!! what in good gods  f- . forget it  lol. just saying.  This is my rant and MY opinion on why i will not be playing WoW. and i do not wish any of yo uto think that i'm trying to force anyone to turn their back on a game they love to play. I'm just throwing my voice out there in hopes to get a response back of anything. Whether it is why they play the game, Why they will quit the game, why they will never play the game, why they hate the game or why they think the other teams in blizzard are makeing other blizzard games much better then they once were, or anything!! post your opinions here or comments. enjoy :)

And once again im not bashing the gameplay of wow. WoW has a great and decent game mechanic. Obviously made a revolution with mmo gameplay. But again, the community. and YES i understand that every game has it's bad community, but this DOES top it's charts highly. MAybe not the highest, but is on there at an extreme altitude.

A free and (and I must say) very smart invitation to further Wow bashing.

The fact the man says he doesn't play War is a laugh. ROFL with this.

I guess we will see a LOT of these bumped up hate posts in the coming 40 days before WotLK launches.

I guess they must wet their pants right now counting these days.

    :)) Have a nice day :))

i don't play war, honestly. Let me rephrase that, i haven't had a chance to play war with my motherboard fried if yo udidn't catch that. I had the hype for the game two years before release. Look at the day i registered. That was the day i hyped it. Secondly, "wow bashing" if thats what you must call it, i was stateing a point to why I.. as in ME .. will not be playing. not you.  I'm sorry if you dont believe me. i guess you could count me playing the tabletop game for 10 years? but i don't know how you can compare a tabletop to an MMO.

Sorry but I don't discuss with someone who posted this in a previous post and I quote:

"I know this is going to sound harsh, but i can't wait till this game dies" (Wow talk).

And then saying I quote again "Now i'm a very positive person and very optimistic :) ,

Everyone knows that I don't like War, but I would never ever use words like this on a War forum.

Sorry guy, but people like you who just say such silly things like above are steeling my hobby and I don't want you here.

    Capice ?

I am sorry to say that i don't see how this makes any sense???

I could understand if you were leaving the game because the in-game community was so bad, but as you control who you play alongside, the community in game is what you make it.

As for leaving because of the forum communities, well that is just plain wierd. Why should someone elses drama effect what you do in the game?

If you are going to sit on forums or newsgroups all day and absorb the crap that some people spew out because they just got ganked and are angry about it or how annoyed they are because their class just got 'nerfed' and then take it on board as a problem with the game i don't see the link.

I prefer to play the game from my own perspective and make decisions about whether i play or not based on my own experience, that way i know i am making the choice for myself and not because someone else says they have a problem.

It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

If a new fast food chain opened up, don't you think it would be compared to McDonalds?   If a new Operating systems was launched, wouldn't it be compared to Windows?    WOW is the 900lb gorilla.. of course every other game is going to be compared to it.   What does that have to do with the 'drama' of WOW. I really don't see why you would not play WOW because of this.

More people play WOW than play any other NA/EU game combined.  Heck, there ae probably more ex-wow players than there are people playing all the other games combined.    Basically you sound like you just don't want to play a game because it is too successful.

Actually I don't think you are.  At least that post didn't come off as coming from a very optimistic person.  Optimistic people almost never use phrases like "I refuse to....".  Rarely do they think that anything has too much drama, rather they see drama as a natural way of things and that eventually everything will work itself out in the end.  That's an optimistic person.  No, I'm not a therapist or anything, so don't be offended.  I did take 2 semesters of Psychology in college though :)

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Edit:  You'd think after 2 semesters I could learn how to spell it.

Hm, i think you did miss my point. I am not sure if you play on the EU Servers or the North american servers, but i am on the north american.  WoW requires you to team up with other people for "gear" per say whether it's pvp or pve. I myself do not like to play alone :) . And i do love raiding! i love it :) . The problem like i have said before is the DRAMA, and how this games community has sunk. Horribly fast. there for to you i will list some of the servers i have played on, for i play on the north american realms, well have played on heh ^-^

Burning blade, Illidan, Azshara, Drak'thul, Anetheron, Sargeras, Warsong, Cairne, Tichondrius, Earthen ring, Emerald dream, Anub'Arak, Argent dawn, Shattered hand. and many many many more. i have gone from so many different servers in hopes that their economy and community would be ALOT better.  THIS is why i am having to leave because i am so sick of the server hopping. I hope this makes it much clearer to you sir.

Single player games OP, see all mmo's have tons of drama, anyone that says otherwise is full of it, you either find people in the game you can relate with and have a good time or you join the snob groups and put up with their crap, or you go to single player games where there is no drama.

Good luck on finding a game, i have a good group i play with with little to no drama, strict rules we follow keep the drama noobs away from us heh.

I didn't miss your point, i just didn't see how it made any sense and to be fair if you read back your original post you were making a point about the external community as a whole and not the in game raiders.

I love the social aspects of the game too, but we choose who we play alongside and if someone is being a bloody idiot or making a drama of the most stupid things then you just don't play alongside that player, it really is as simple as that.

Why server hop, i really don't understand that at all, it is like moving home because you feel you have no choice but to associate with the obnoxious neighbours down the street. You stick to a server where you build a core of friends, just like you do in RL and then build from there.

The game and the community within it will always be what you make of it, you cannot just expect people to be the way you want them to be in any game that is open to the population at large as you are not going to like all of them i am afraid. What you can do is actively seek out those players that have the same interests, playing style and attitude as you and associate with them which in turn will make your whole in game experience a better one.

It must be Thursday, i never could get the hang of Thursdays.

Whatever the OP said he doesnt like the wow community...big deal.

You guys kind of just prove his point by sticking him under a microscope and then attacking him on stupid details.

    I have a special question....

What's your point in all this?

You seem to be contracting your own statements and yourself......

It seems to be a problem created by your own hands really.

BTW, WoW and drama goes hand in hand, hell it's what makes the game feel so alive at times. But that's perhaps it's a social hub, where talking behind the back isn't something that happens rarely. In the guild i am in (been there since 2005), there has been an awful lot of drama, and honestly i kinda like it, a nice nickname for the guild has often been "the drama guild" because we somehow were good at destroying jerk-guilds in our special way. Also it could be because we have/had such an awful lot of women as well..... i'm really not sure.

WoW is a game that's alive and where it can go dirty sometimes, not some sterile mmo with nothing but boredom.

Nice people are mostly treated nicely, people who fire better be prepared to be fired upon.
