Possibly collision detection turned off? We've seen collision detection so we know it's in regardless. And no I still don't believe him but I'll reserve judgement for screenies.
Mr. Tester, do you mean, by targeting, that you lock on and then attack normally (a la oblivion, etc.) or is it autohitting for you?
And that my friend is why I said it reminded of Dark and light... (how many of their main features were missing at launch?)

You mean Tasos told you collision detection with friendly fire, and not targeting are DF main features…

But can we get some of the login screen and the Darkfall directory please and the error screen when it says unable to find server or whatever if its currently down, sorry to be pedantic but unless these are provided most people wont believe you.

You could always come back when the server is back up and post some in game screens, then everyone will believe you, thanks anyway, was entertaining non the less.

Wait, so when you said "The combat isn't as revolutionary as the devs claim, its very straight forward, you lock on to a target, and attack. It's actually very much like the DnD online fighting system..." you actually didn't mean that you lock on to a target?

as our good friend polarization said, need more screens. not much trouble on your end, just throw a few up and defeat my logic w/ proof.
i like how when you cant present any real proof you fade away. anyone couldve photoshopped those. whether you did or not doesnt matter, its that anyone could so no one is likely to believe you. character select screen, in game pic of just about anything for example may actually prove something.
and how can you judge fps lag when you have a 128 pos vid card and 384 system ram? you were correct in saying they chose you (if) for the low end testing, that means you can definately expect not to run the game well because they are looking for that Minimum Settings cut off. They've stated you can expect to need 3x your pc to run this game decent, which still is not saying much.
<edit> oh and i forgot to mention its pretty unlikely they are using their live servers hosted by GNi to do hardware testing.

Going through all this kind of fake work just to shit on a coming online game.
From what's been described ..
Seems like this game is more in the Alpha stage (you know, they test basic code beforing stringing things together)..
Again, I go back to my point.
This game isn't coming out this year. Even using ghost clients for stress testing, and paid beta testers.. And only 40 or so testers for hardware? You've got to be kidding me. I've built 4 computers, and there were WAY more than 40 options for each of those computers. Using such a small range of equipment to see how a game plays and to fix bugs?
The more time goes by, the quicker Darkfall dries up. I wouldn't be suprised if the game doesn't come out this year.. and in a few more years we hear how darkfall is going into OPEN beta by October.. only to be strung along. It sort of reminds me of Ralph Nader. He's not really their to win, but take votes away from other people.
So, by saying "Yes, I'm in Beta" then talking about how nothing works, you were "inventory" testing, the game doesn't play like it's supposed to, nothing too revolutionary.. Then what are we all waiting for? This isn't 1998. We don't need another BLAND fantasy game, we need evolution of the MMORPVPG®, something that is a blast to play with a deep world.. Hell.. With Darkfall, we've been waiting long enough..

Not so much sceptical but critical.
I read his posts about being in beta.. -- I thought there were two people.
I REALLY want this game to come out. I saw the video.. and it looks good. But I think it was more CGI then it was actual game play footage (notice no action bar?)

How did you end up with the job if all the advert. for beta testers were in greek?
Also how come you say it took you two days too download but you said you were in an open office space for the testing?
the UI's minimal, and can be taken offscreen entirely. that's been a goal of the devs. the footage is 100percent in-game, and there's nothing suspicious about it to make one think otherwise.
but I'm glad you're interested in seeing the game. being critical isn't always bad.
he's saying he's in the open hardware test, not the private test, and that he's playing from his laptop (I think) at home.
