However tall/short you want to be?  There's no real benefit to being shorter or taller.

It's all decorative.  As are races now.  No inherent advantage/disadvantage to any of that stuff.

Height never affected combat in any way.  Races once had some specific traits and bonuses but all that poofed in the NGE.  There was a proposal to allow for players to select some traits based on their "upbringing"; for example a Mon Cal toon could have Wookiee traits if they were brought up on Kashyyyk or a Wook colony world but the idea was abandoned it seems.

CH, Jedi, Commando, Smuggler, BH, Scout, Doctor, Chef, BE...yeah, lots of SWG time invested.

I heard the smaller your toon is the smaller your hit box is, which means that in PvP people have a harder time targeting you and in PvE NPC can't see you.

    Hope that helps.

With the original NGE default targeting system, this might have been true.

But it's so hard to tell because the early NGE was so buggy and messed up.

I created a tiny bothan for PvP because of this a couple of years ago, but since they reimplemented auto-aim and auto-attack it's not really an advantage.

In PvP, a smaller toon will still offer a very slight advantage. Your toon is harder to see and has a smaller hitbox, and some people still play without auto-target/auto-aim.

Other than that, there are some pretty cool perspective differences. I usually played Wookies, Humans, and Zabs... the first time I played a Bothan, I was amazed at how short I actually felt.

    Bothans RAWK!

I had more RP fun with my Bothans than with even my Wooks or MonCals.  DEFINITELY more than my Hairless Hanadak.

Not totally true. One of my toons is a wookie and the other is a human. There is a compound on Endor or Yavin 5 that has a small opening in the wall. The human can go through it but not the wookie.

Oh, that's just more developer incompetence on display.

For some reason, I was able to walk through some archways mounted on a savage humbaba, but could not on a cu pa.  Mind you, as I go through the archway its peak slices right through the upper half of my body.  But the cu pa could NOT pass through that same archway., even though it took up visually less than 1/2 of the open space of the archway.

The bridge from the Lok starport to Nym's Stonghold?  Can't ride a dewback or a veractyl across it.  But could on a savage humbaba!

Then there were the archways in Tyrenna I could drive an AV 21 through but not an XP 38.
