-- The Tales of InigoMontoya --
Ok, so I've been playing Atlantica Online now since the first closed beta under the name InigoMontoya.
One of the things that first caught my eye, was that you built your own team instead of creating just one character. This has lead to some amassing flexibility and I'll try and describe that here.
In Closed Beta 1 I didn't really know what all I was doing and was just trying to find out how things worked.
I had my sword fighter and several archers. The archer can snipe any target and also have the ability to hit flying creatures. Unfortunately, the way I playing didn't work out too well, and my archers kept dying. It quickly became apparent that my frontline needed a bit more defense. I kept to myself and never really partied much. I ended closed beta 1at level 25.
Closed Beta 2 then rolled out and I was confident that I'd have a better start. This time, my frontline was 3 spearmen, who have better defense than the archers did. My mid row consisted of my main sword fighter, a Viking ax fighter, and a Beast Tamer. Finally, my back row had two healers and a monk. The variety of characters that I now possessed did indeed allow me to progress in the game much further than before. I found out that parties also offer many benefits and started to team up with some friends on a regular basis. My Final Level: 52.
Closed Beta 3: Now it was getting serious. I started my team back up and was off to a quick start. I hacked and slashed my way through enemies and was feeling very impressed with myself. This time I started yet another new task: Crafting . I made my own weapons and was able to craft a +7 sword that had a red glow and looks much like a light saber. Me and my new lighter cut down any enemy that dared to oppose me. HA HA! Final level 63.
Open Beta : After CB3 I thought about my crafting and how much good equipment helped in the game. I decided to change up my strategy again. I wanted a strong defense and also similar characters, so they can share my crafted equipment.
Font Line: Sword fighter all around! There high defense is a nice wall providing much needed defense.
Mid Line: 2 Vikings and my main Sword Fighter! With the Vikings able to freeze enemies, they seemed like a necessity.
Back Line: Artilleryman and a Shaman. This gives me the healing I need and the ability to stun my opponents.
I’ve now conquered my enemies and even progressed in Player vs Player. My next task is to defeat a developer So, lets throw down the gauntlet and post a challenge! Any developer that think he can take the great InigoMontoya, come and Prepare to Die!
If you'd like to try the game as well, just come here, you won't be disappointed:
