No not really. Its not worth 40 bucks more for what you get im sorry. So you get some dragon for your HOUSE... who cares... you still get statues or art for your house with the reg version of the game so why even bother with the CE? Only people who will buy the CE are people who are dumb and who want to put the map on their wall *rollseyes*.
Its got some stuff that makes it worth the while. I got it for the sound track, the DVD and the art book. Its not like you get it just for the dragon... Its a COLLECTORS edition for people who want to COLLECT everything they can... and that is waht this gives you. I understand some people cant fork over the money for it than dont get the collectors edition, im just saying it has more than what you say it does.
I am not paying 40 extra bucks for a few novelty items. The special ingame goodies you get are stupid too.

That would be like asking a movie fan, is it worth buy the CE of a given movie. We must remember, for what ever reason one buy's anything that is considered CE, it's self satisfaction to that person, and if that makes them happy. Personal preference and self choice, so the answer could be many.
I think what you get is worth an additional $20, not $40. However, I guess if you are into collecting items like this, you'd probably pay the extra $40.
Thing about games which everyone has their own house/apartment is that really no one cares to look into it .The only time you can show off anything is if it is super rare.
Now reason i have no intrest in a CE is the fact that $40 shows nothing for what i am paying.I think it even makes more sense going to ebay and buying the local currency with that money and actual buy ingame something useful then what it has to offer.
The J boots is another issue but it apparently avaliable for all pre orders.Even at that the real impact of it on the game is strongly discussed atm on the offical ofrum.

You know, I still have the map of the original EQ in a frame. Back when EQ was released, and you couldn't just "touch a stone" to get where ever you want to, Druids were few and far between (and expensive), it came in very handy learning how to get from one place to another, what the names of the different lands are, how the continents were set up, etc...I found it invaluable. Granted, it is way out of date after all the expansions, but it served a purpose. Is a cloth map worth $40...depends on how accurate it is and if it is laid out to actually resemble the landscape. And I "think" you get one (paper) in the other versions?
I wonder if we are gonna see any of these CEs on ebay...
Personally, if the baby dragon stays in the house, it is a useless game item. More fluff than content.
If the baby dragon does something - maybe if the dragon gives you some instanced quests or provides some other game thing, the costs are too high for an investment.

They'll be on Ebay, same as the SWG CE.
Like someone else said in another thread about CE's being worth the cost, I'd rather buy 2 copys of the normal box, than one collecter edition. If I really want the extra stuff from the CE, I can always buy it off Ebay 6 months down the road. I could always pay a crackhead 10 bucks to steal it for me as well.
The original EQ map that came in the box was completly worthless, I remember trying to use it to get around. It was more of an artists idea of the land then the actual layout was. If you tried to use it to actualy get around you just ended up lost of looking for an area or entrance that didn't exist there but was actualy in an entirely different zone.
After about a day of trying to use it on a trip I took from Freeport to Qeynos I went online and just printed out the actual zone maps (as they were known at the time)

For me, it's too expensive for what you get.
