Well not quite true, he didn't actually draw the car, car designers did, but he did push for it to be made.  And do you know what the the really ingenious thing about the car is?  It doesn't have a water cooled radiator like most cars do, it's an air-cooled engine and the engine is in the trunk.  I believe this whole air-cooled engine idea even went into building a lot of the vehicles that were used in the war where some of the fighting was in very dry places where water wasn't easy to come by.

What pisses me off about WoW asian numbers are that the players over there dont actually pay for a WoW game box and they pay a few cents to actually play the game in a cyber caffee. So i totally discount the 6 million + asian number just like I discount any F2p asian sub number along with L2.

Now if your talking No competition for wow game Quality wise I think you are dead wrong.
Hell games older then WoW are actually better wow is just really, really casual friendly.
The Players that play WoW just don't know any better its safe to say around 60% of those players don't even goto forums or read about other MMO's to know whats out there.
Shit I asked my old guild if they tried WAR most of them didn't know what it was haha.

I have to agree with this.  Several games that launched around the same time WoW did are still going strong, still have very loyal followings, and are still gaining subs.

But WoW is casual-friendly.  The other games are not.  Hell, I play Eve now, and while I love it to death I'm not so stupid as to think that any game where you can make a mistake because you don't know any better, get your ass handed to you, and lose your shirt as a result will ever be anything more than a niche game.

And that's the problem I think.. to many developers are only focusing on the broad, casual market and there's no way to beat WoW there as it just has waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much of a head start.  Successful developers should target and cater to a specific audiance, not the entire MMO market.

Untrue.  They didn't have to pay for the expansion, but they had to pay for the game initially.  Not sure how that works with the CyberCafe's, but I think there is an initial charge to setup your account or something.
They pay a membership fee then they get to play every game that particular cyber caffee has on their systems. Also remember blizzard doesnt get the majority of the profit from asia they other distributor does (the 9 i believe the companies name is called). IN asia WoW is basically Free to try then they pay per hour.
and they pay a few cents to actually play the game in a cyber caffee.
Also pretty much untrue.  Depending upon how much you play and adjusting the value of the dollar in NA to what the Asians pay, you might actually be paying less than them.  They pay by the hour I believe whereas you pay a monthly fee.  Let's say you play 20 hours a week, which is not really that much, then you pay approximately 17 cents an hour to play WoW.
Not really, if they pay only cents an hour its still a great chance we pay way more than they do even if they are hardcore.
So i totally discount the 6 million + asian number just like I discount any F2p asian sub number along with L2.
You can totally discount if you want, but your argument as to why you discount doesn't hold a lot of water.  Just so you know.
It holds water, Once I get out of Work i'll see if I can find that damn article I read about WoW fees in asia and why its so popular there. Anyway if your going to count WoWs cyber caffee accounts in ASia then im going to count the 17million + L2 subs around the world  and noone does that.

Z3RO1 - you are mistaken about two very large important things: Blizzard does not get money directly from the Asian subscribers and the Asian market is not entirely China.

The9 pays Blizzard for the rights to distribute WoW in Asia, they pay The9.

Last I read is that even though Asian subscribers comprise 60% of WoW the Asian market contributes 40% of WoWs revenue.

Also, not every Asian pays cents on the hour to play WoW, thats just China. Why only China? Because thats what the Chinese will pay. The Koreans pay hourly as well but they pay a lot more. Other Asian countries pay monthly fees.

However, the myth that all Asians are Chinese and they pay nothing to play WoW will persist because of ignorance.
