It needs another option, which is my choice, 'No, its not what I expected, but I am going to stay anyway'

i think that would be the "no, but im going to give it another month" option.

The poll is very balanced, kind of surprising.

Yea it's exactly what I always wanted when playing wow.  The only thing I was doing back then was the same bg over and over (AV).  Now it's the same system but with lots of different bg.   Wait time is aroud 10 sec to 30 sec for a scenario and I win a lot so I lvl fast and my renown rank is on par with my lvl.

    Great game.

it whas mutch better than expected.. but i got dissapointed because what i want to play is hammerer and that class got cut. if they had removed engineer too, i would seriosly not play warhammer online at all..

    Want to play: Lego Universe

I chose the first option, Yes  and will keep subscribing....

This game meets and about exceeds what I was expecting for a PVP MMO. I didn't get the chance to play DAOC back in its prime so I was kind of hesitant on actually playing. For the first few days I actually hated the game. I think it was because I was expecting something else that I can't quite figure out. However, after playing for 2 weeks now, it's by far one of the best games (MMOs) I've had the pleasure of playing. Especially with the recent change to queuing for RVRs, it's much more lively.

Few minor things which I have an issue with about the game, but they will be taken care of in time I'm sure. But I'm having a blast and I intend on playing this game for a long time to come.

Best game ever played (Anarchy-Online - 4yrs of Service)
    ----------------
Have Played: FFXI, SWG, EQ2, L2, GW, CoH/X, Vanguard, WoW, LOTRO, MxO, AoC

    Yes, clever poll

I THINK i would have continued playing if it wasn't for the bland PvP and the non-stop go and fetch me testicles kind of quests

It absolutely fails in giving me an experience different from WoW, it feels and plays like another clone, AoC, Lotro, Tabula rasa, EQ2.

Nope, the game was a let down for me. I don't like instanced PvP which seems to be the bigger part of the game. I don't find any of the classes really interesting me and there isn't much content in the game even compared to other MMOs on launch day (no, doing the same scenarios and PQs over and over again doesn't count as content).

Siege weapons are pretty crummy too compared to DAoCs siege weapons. Eh, I could nitpick at the game all day long, but that wont solve anything. Bottom line is that the game isn't what I had hoped it to be. It's just AoC all over again for me. Hopefully you other guys can enjoy the game.

Sure, WoW took stuff from EQ, but EQ2 took stuff from WoW. Basically... the quests system and the whole interface.

  • How about the "it's too early to judge" option?

I expected a wow clone, and it IS a wow clone. But I'll continue playing until the new EQ2 addon will release

It is definitly not what I expected.

My first character I rolled destro -  our faction was so dominate, I almost never had time to harm another player in RvR before they were dead.  We steamrolled so fast

My second character I played the other side -  I never saw an enemy die.  Yes, i was actually able to damage the enemy, but not enough to kill them before i got steamrolled.

After the first couple days, there was nothing but scenarios.  The dominate side owned RvR with no resistence.

Warhammer was supposed to be an RvR game, instead it turned into a scenario game.

The game isnt what I envisioned it to be because of the scenarios also.......I think alot of us thought it was going to be mainly RVR with some PVE kinda like DAoC was......It almos feels like WAR was too influenced by WOW and decided to use the scenarios as its main attraction instead of the RVR......

  • skeaserskeaser Member RarePosts: 4,213

I love the game, however, I'm finding a lack of other players causing difficulty.

Can't do PQs alone, can do scenarios alone, and do world RvR alone...

In the first week there were so many people, PQs were always full, Scenarios only took minutes to get into, and world RvR objectives were constantly under attack. Now it feels like it's just me myself and I.

Sig so that badges don't eat my posts.

This too has been my experience thus far. One side far outnumbers outclasses and straight up outperforms the other. Also I did not expect the game to be so scenario centric. Its like playing guild wars all over again.

I see tons of potential to be great but it seems like this game is satisfied with mediocrity.

I remembered EQ2 coming out before WoW and got confirmation after a quick Wiki search, so no.

Both has 'borrowed' ideas from eachother over the last few years, but EQ2 is not a WoW clone.

The poll isn't a suprise to me.

I've suspected that about half of the geniouses writing to these forums aren't playing any game, just disgussing about them. This poll somewhat confirms that thought.

  • IxnatifualIxnatifual Member Posts: 475

Mostly what I expected, apart from one thing - at the moment there's not enough incentive to do Open RvR, so everyone is doing scenarios and world PvP is pretty much dead in the lower tiers. I hope they'll rebalance the Open RvR vs instanced RvR rewards to make it much more appealing to fight outside of the instances.

  • TheSheikhTheSheikh Member Posts: 804

Yes it is what i expected for the most part, but I was in beta so I had already known what to expect.

I pre-ordered, subscribed, and I plan to keep subscribing. Mythic is a very good development team and know how to effectively run an Online game. The game itself is actually very well done (in my honest opinion), though you wouldn't think that after reading these forums. The WAR forums here are full of rot, mildew, mold, and fungus. Mostly things that you would find in a trolls cave.

    STOP WHINING!

Well.. i never followed this game religously, but it is exactly what i have expected. Solid pvp/rvr game, with a very casual approach to it.. pvp for everyone so to say.

I bought the preorder kit for around 10€ to test it in the open beta, and was able to play it until 1. Oct.

I got my shot into it.. and i have to say it is fun to play.. but in the same way it is not so deep as i would wish for a pvp mmorpg, but never expected it anyway. Overall, i even guess i will buy it, and play it some more, but i also expect that i will later or sooner be bored about it. The pvp scenarios and also the open rvr can become quite boring after some time, because basicly it is always the same.. on the other hand i thought the same about DAoC and played it after all over 2 years, the same could be true for WAR.

As i said before, and as i will say it here again. WAR is for pvp in mmorpgs, what WoW was for pve in mmorpgs.. a very casual game, and a revolution withit.. but without the depth of more hardcore mmorpgs.

But for every casual player it is the best way to come into mmorpgs, and especially into the pvp game of mmorpgs. It is, and will be a huge success, more or less the same as WoW.. and it will on the same side have as much criticism from veteran and hardcore players, as WoW.

  • CryptorCryptor Member UncommonPosts: 523

I didn;t have high hopes mainly due to reading the haters on this forum but Warhammer is by far the best mmorpg that I have ever played.

  • Sicc1Sicc1 Member UncommonPosts: 243

Its more then i expected.Im not a fanboy and didnt expect much i just knew you were supposed to be able to level and gte gear through pvp and thats all i cared about.I loved WoW but didnt have the time to invest due to family and work.I just wanted to be able to compete on a level playing field gear wise without having to raid and it did that for me so far.Im having fun thats all that matters.
