Atlantica Online..Choice of Words.

I noticed as of late that there are a lot of not allowed words in this game.

For example is GOD. Try it out.

Why is this? I understand that there are words that shouldn't be used since there is a possibility  that children are playing but why so much.

I just find it funny when i'm speaking to someone that all of a sudden i can see ### in a word.

Did you notice this as well or i'm just the one annoyed.

Why can't they program it to look at the entire work and check it's database.

It's probably edited because of Goddamn! Well, it's a pg-13 game and lots of kids are playing, so they probably decided to add a filter to every possible curse word. It's not a new thing with MMORPG anyway, so I'm not surprised. In fact I would be surprised if there was no filter.

you can turn the filter off in-game so you can see and swear as much as you want.

Upon turning off the filter are there any consequence or penalty you can get for cursing??? like for ragnarok, if you flood you will be silenced for a given time depending on how much you flood.. and if you are silence you cannot talk, you cant do general chat,pm, party chat and even guild chat... so in atlantica are there any similar policy that goes for flooding??? or even cursing...

well i could probably understand GOd because of goddamn but yesterday i was typing 'sucks'

and it appered ####,, so then since i wanted to get my point across i started typing 'sux' and still it came off

as ###

,,, i think its pretty much stupid because it doesnt really work.. i just ended up typing

...anyway not that it matters but sometimes it helps just to get yuor point across.. so guys next time you want to speak your mind,, dont forget to type in the spaces

I seems like they haven't really perfected it since there are a few words that really is not blocked. What i did is followed the post above to disable filter. The problem with that one thought is when the person you are chatting with has the filter turned on on his side. lol

In any case this, this becomes a flaw if you are in a very intenseconversation then all of a sudden your word is filtered. lol

I just find it funny, that's all.
