MMO: Your Adventure.

Hello forumites,

I need a small bit of help with something. I write for an online publication (which can be found here:http://www.the-scoremagazine.com ) and we are currently on the way to launching issue two. Now, I'm covering an MMO article this time and I just want to get the general opinion of the public (as I play MMO's myself but I want to hear of other peoples stories). So if you have a few spare moments I would greatly appreciate if you could perhaps write a few words, here let me show you.

All of your personal details are of course optional, they'll be included next to your input should you choose to do so in the magazine.

Your name (Can be real life name or online alias):

Age:

Location on Earth:

Current MMO:

Then, if you can write a paragraph about what inspired you to play MMO's and a defining moment for you over the last ten years that would be great.

Kind regards,

Gar

I was in the 6th grade when my soon-to-be best friend told me glorious fables of an elf running about in the woods of Faydark - suddenly to be transformed into a wolf by a passing druid. This facinated me, so I decided to buy the game and try it out. My only online experience up to that point was Battle.net with D2 - and I was fairly successful as a 12 year old. Needless to say, EQ1 was my first real MMO experience and my greatest. Too many memories to recount as the content was interesting, a foreign atmosphere was fresh, and the people were great. I am now playing on a EQ1-like game called Shards of Dalaya, and am enjoying it, as I disagree where SONY has taken EQ1.

    Blessings,

Back in High School an acquaintance had been bragging about this new game he had picked up. The amount of detail etc he went into had me salivating. He at the time was talking about Asheron's Call. At the time I had no job, no credit card, so naturally I grew a hunger to play one.

At the time I was an FPS addict, competitively playing etc. MMO's around that time were just starting to take FPS players away in my community, I kept hearing about Anarchy Online and DAOC. So I tried Anarchy online my last year of high school, didn't play it very long but it got me into them. Little bit after I got hooked on FFXI for awhile and have been into them ever since. Though it's been somewhat like a famous drug that used to be part of a famous soda-pop...always chasing that first time high.
