Question - game advertisement in regards to MMORPG term of agreements

Hello everyone,

I'm unsure if this is the right area to post this, but I saw it good to post it here. MODS - if there is a better forum/sub forum for this, then please move it. Also, if an answer would come through a PM, that would work just as well. Thank you!

Under the "Rules of Conduct", it has this in regards to advertisement, "MMORPG.com does not allow users to advertise products or companies in our forums. If you want to advertise, contact support@mmorpg.com."

I know many disregard this and advertise freely, however, I am not intereted in breaking the rules. I am on a development team (I'm actually a co-founder and a tier under the lead developer). However, the game is NOT a MMO. With that said, would it be against the Rules of Conduct to give a link here and welcome MMORPG viewers to check out the game, but not advertise in regards of listing screen shots, beta information and other?

I know I'll get the response, "Why are you in a MMORPG forum if the game isn't a MMORPG?" Great question. After the release of the game we are working on now, we are planning on making a MMO, which could be in the same universe of this game. Therefore, they are related, albeit indirectly.

Most people don't object to an occasional promotion.  It is your fellow readers and posters who usually decide if someone has over stepped this. It's those who only/constantly advertise that usually get reported.  Or are always trying to insert what they are promoting into other discussions.  That and any type of referral link or one-post wonders..
