It looks interesting. The character customization actually appears to be quite deep but a fully turn based battle system is kind of unsettling. I also wonder that since it seems you can hire NPCs there may be very little grouping but I guess it's a plus for the players who like to just solo. concertogate.gamescampus.com/

Does anyone know if this is gonna be p2p? If so, I'm out.
But of course, there's always those special kinds of servers...

He said to me, "On your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that going for me, which is nice.
Pritty sure this one is going to be f2p.
Its got a buy cash link at the top on the main website if that tells you anything.
Don't be terrorized! You're more likely to die of a car accident, drowning, fire, or murder! More people die every year from prescription drugs than terrorism LOL!
Should just focus on a true sequel to Final Fantasy 11 if you ask me.
I think it looks rather lame, but I can see it being something nice for the people who like anime influences in their MMORPGs.
Atlantica has a turn based combat system and its quite fun (if only the rest of the game were as fun)
R.I.P. City of Heroes and my 17 characters there
Its free. Gamecampus who is running it (http://concertogate.gamescampus.com/) only runs free mmo games. the campus cash is for use in their item shops for each game they have. I probably wouldnt play it myself because I dont care much for the chibi anime games. I go more for the f2p Lineage 2 clones...
Warp
So why was Square Enix mentioned? ?.?
Square Enix is the developer.. GameCampus is the company running the servers/item mall...
Warp
I never heard of this game I know SE is also working on Fantasy Earth as well. And also I guess they are working on some untlitles MMO. WHo knows what else they are working on.
You can't hire NPCs. The NPCs you see are usually following you temporarily for a quest. The other characters following the player are real players.
Been playing CB1, the game is pretty good, has this oldschool J-RPG feel and is kinda sanboxy (you don't have to quest or kill monsters, you can focus on a crafting class, that involves little to no combat). The turn based combat is actually pretty good, it's refreshing to see it in a mmo. And grouping is pretty much forced to kill even regular monsters (a big pros for me).
The real developers are Ponsbic, Square-Enix must only be funding and overusing their name to attract players. The game is still good though, but nowhere near SE quality standards.
And yes, it's going to be F2P. CBT2 should be ready "soon".
Ohhh.... New game from Square!! Gotta try it!
*off to search for the game...*
At least its from Square. Then its worth trying it.
Don't believe in anything that you see the first time.
This game looks horrible, I don't care if Square's name is on it or not, and if they are smart, they will take their name off of this game that looks like a throwback to the original NES.
You know the saying : Don't judge a book by its cover
Fantasy Earth??? You are severely behind the times. Fantasy Earth was released, bombed, and shut down a year ago. A revamped f2p version called Fantasy Earth Zero was subsequently launched, but SE isn't involved in that.
I gave up on Squenix a long time ago. Now all they produce is simple games that take 60+ hours to drag through a crappy storyline that might be interesting to a Japanese teenager.
FFXI is a game where you beat up rabits and other cute little things so you can level up and beat up slightly different colored rabits. 6 people gathered around beating up a freaking rabbit. And then someone falls over and dies from it.
It was funny in Monty Python, but not when you're stuck beating up the same kind of rabit for hours on end.
I think you just described pretty much every PVE focused MMORPG on the market.
I don't know why SE thinks the solution is to make entire new MMORPGs instead of improving their current one, FFXI. It already has a loyal base of ~500,000 subscribers.
I think I'm gonna give this one a try as I am a fan of SE offline games. Though I still believe its best they focus on offline because that where they're good at.
Long live the Scottish!
