The only problem with that is this quote :)

Blizzard/Activision to $17.50 from $19; the stock was trading down 1.4% at $11.99

The analysts is saying Blizzard stock is going to double.

The article is also talking about games in general.  MMORPGs are very different in that they are actually a value play.  While a slumping economy may keep you from picking up CoD5 for $50, it is hard to find something like an MMORPG that can entertain you for 40hrs a month for $15.   And really, I still don't see the overall economy having that much of an effect on consumer spending on entertainment.   Batman was only a 'decent' movie.. yet it was the top grossing movie of all time and was released during a very bad economy.

I'm not sure I understand what about my qoute you claim there is a problem with? If you actually read the article it was less about Activision/Blizzard and more about the video games industry as a whole's stock price is currently undervalued, they do very well in sales even during economic downturn but it won't show in the stock price. Example WoW

BTW Batman is not "the" top grossing movie of all time, it's number 2. and also wasn't AoC one of the top mmos in sales upon release? And obviosuly that has no bearing on their stock price.

and yes of course the article says it's a value play. that's why i posted the article. and it didn't say ATVI was  going to double. It pretty much said it would be a good investment because the industry as a whole is UNDERVALUED! which means the actually value is higher then the low stock price....

So essentialy i think you agree with myself and the article but since it used Activision/Blizzard as a positive  example, you think i posted the link because i have something against Activision/Blizzard and World of Warcraft?

I really didn't know what message you were trying to get across and still don't... so its hard to say if I agree with you :)  There are a lot of people on this forum that think Funcom dropped 90% because the stock market dropped 5% on a Monday.  Was it a stretch to say that you were trying to say Funcom dropping 90% is related to EA and Activision dropping 25%?

Funcom is not EA and is not Activision... so saying a 90% drop in Funcom has any relation to the broader drop in big, profitable companies isn't relevant.  AOC is a one trick pony, with 14/15's of their expected income supposed to come from AOC in the 3Q.  The correlation between the failure of AOC and the drop in Funcoms stock is direct.   The drop in EA and Activision ( multi-billion dollar companies) is more about  the macro-economy and stock market in general and cannot be tied directly to any one game they produce.

I think when you linked that article, you should have explained why you felt it was related to AOC.

It meant exactly what the article is about. Stock price on game companoes don't mean shit. they still sell!

And how would it have anything to do with AoC?I posted in a an AoC thread where someone thinks just because funcom's stock rose a little bit that somehow it makes a difference on the quality of the game.

and you agreed with me because it appeared you agree with the article but then tried to make it into a World of Warcraft is better then AoC thing. which in the article it didn't say anything about their opninions of the games.

and my quote was "this is all i have to say" the  posted the link, so wtf do you think I'm trying to say?

    do you finally get it?
