So is anyone takign into consideration that MANY AoC players turned Xfire off for AoC because it causes the game to lock up and crash more often than it already does???
They never reached 1,000,000 paid subscriptions, after the first 30 days many went back to their old game so pop dropped, add that to people no renewing for bugs etc. Last I heard they still have about 300,000 paid accounts start of October.
Funcom should have delayed AoCs launch until 30-60 days after Wars launch, they couldve cleaned up more bugs, had PvP rocking before release, DX10 AND all those disappointed in Warhammer would be thirsty for something else and with nothing else releasing until next year they wouldve kept many more subs.
AoC still has potentional, hell attacking from mounts alone makes me shy away from WoW or Wowhammer. Of course I didnt stay with Warhammer long enough to get a mount so I could be wrong there, but not from what ive heard.
So for now when I feel like hacking off heads its AoC, w hen I feel like fighting crime or just being evil I play CoH
Wow is finally dead to me

My guild uses Ventrilo instead, it is supposed to use less memory (no, I havn't really bothered to check myself, we just use it some occasions anyways.
But yes, the game could have used 6 months more before launch, so could WAR for that matter...
I too fail to see any increase here. Averages are for people hanging by a string... The average chance of this string breraking are: *snap*....
Hmm you did not get the point. you need an average and multiple datapoints to develop error bar (think about that for a while). And by the way I can post overly positive outlooks if that's what you think I can't. I just try and do it the way it is supposed to be done which is moving average and standard mean.

looks like the numbers are going down to me.
Exactly, you prove my point. We can all sit here looking on fridays, thursdays and what not and say hey look I see this while you see that. That's exactly why I take a week average with standard deviation for errorbar so we all can shut up and look on that instead. Week average is up wether you like it or not. (hey look further up in the thread.
Last thing, we all know that Xfirenumbers were down before patch 2.0 (17th of Sep), what we are discussing is if it up after the 17th of Sep.
The numbers indicate that the number of people joining the game roughly is equal to the number of people quiting the game....
Why are they equal? Some people are returning to see how it is having heard the patch is good? The game has shrunk to the point where the player base is mostly hard core fans willing to stay with the game no matter what? Some new people are seeing the box and buying the game to check it out? Bugs and problems have been fixed and game play is keeping new people longer?
kinda a crazy poll... The numbers indicate that the number of people joining the game roughly is equal to the number of people quiting the game.... Why are they equal? The poll is just showing what AoC gamers have been saying for a while now. People are resubbing to this game after patch 2.0, which bumped performance way up (and also killed a long list of bugs). Personally I also think a lot of people join because of patch 3.0 rumors from TL server. Patch 3.0 is apparently a beast size patch making not only a ton of more improvements but also introducing new stuff that was just published like 2 weeks back.

Another day another flatline for AoC...it seems to be stabilizing to around "no one is playing the game". Looks like the mass exodus is done now though.

the only thing you can conclude from this survey is that AoC is not getting new customers or very few. So it is just curning old customers.
Honestly I think it is a bit of everything. Anyway congrats that AoC appears to have finally stablized!! Now just hope they consolidate servers soon. I think that might even cause it to go up some!!

Well I guess I am now going to say something that the Xfire numbers are not reflecting, which is that I have noticed a pretty rapid rise in activity on my server over the last two weeks. I have been pondering about this for a while and I have come to that people are either rerolling or new people are actually resubbing or coming to the game as first timers... maybe it's the Big Bang Theory viewers or something that are testing the game. Who knows?
I dont know why people like to use X-Fire as a source for number of people and hours played cause Im pretty sure there is a lot of people that dont use X-Fire every game that I have installed that had a X-fire installation option I just skip it just more junk that I dont need on my computer I keep it very organized and clutter free. X-Fire isnt very reliable anyway why base anything off something that not everyone uses?

I just read a post on the main boards discussing how forum activity in AoC is down 15% in the last 3 weeks. That certainly cannot be a good sign.
XFire numbers are down too.
1 year target estimate on yahoo finance moved Funcom down from $27 NOK to $5 NOK. So obviously it was finally updated.

Not looking good for AoC!
Ohh dear. I suggest you head over to the AoC forum as it is the opposit of what you tell us. AoC forum activity is up with primarily positive or gamerelated posts.

Set's forums used to flip pages every 3rd day from new posts. Now the bottom of the page is from Sept 17th...meaning the forums see an average of 1 new post every 2 days.

Really busy there.
I don't know about the server forums, I never look there and I think very few post there. Let me say something about the forum I do know. The general discussion forum produce 3 to 4 pages of "Today comments" threads every day. 4 weeks back it was more like 1/2 page or 1 page. Just flip back through the posts and you will se that. Same with suggestion forum, there is a massive activity increase there. You can also see a modest increase in the newcomer forum. It used to have very low activity before, now there is in general a 1/2 page of today threads pr day.

Some people are like slinkies, they dont really have a purpose, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

I have not seen too many AoC users using Xfire, but you see them very frequently over other forums like WAR.
