    No.

    They will not.

Remember how they couldn't handle Bill Clinton beating the pants off of Poppy Bush?

Remember how they petulantly insisted that Bill Clinton wasn't their President?

It will only be worse with Obama.

If you think that is what Obama will do, then John Mccain would be doing even worse, maybe the same but with the promise of gonorrhea after its done, then perhaps a skullf*ck to follow it up

I won't really blame them if they don't. I still bitch about 2000.

    sure it can.

punish business, small and large like obama plans on doing.

i think lowering the 35%tax  burden to 25% for businesses is one way to combat companies moving their businesses elsewhere.

whats obamas plan to keep business here?

You should expect about the same if not more criticism than Bush received. I mean it isn't like it is going to be any different lol.

Please tell me that this is a joke...You're kidding right?

Shall I bring up the 2000 election fiasco and the complaining that still goes on there?

Hi, it's called the electoral college...get over it, Gore lost.

I don't even need a pot calling the kettle black analogy here...you're such a hypocrite that analogies don't even do it justice.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

I wouldn't worry if he became President. There are so many death threats against him he probably wouldn't last a year. I would be more concerned if Biden then bit it because Pelosi would take over. That should even make you lefties shudder.

in 1992 even though Clinton clearly won in the electoral college, and the popular vote, this did not stop Republicans from insisting that somehow Clinton's victory was illegitimate.

Draenor, I didn't even MENTION 2000, but you immediately gave us the tell of guilt in the questionable legitimacy of the installation of the deserting coward into office.  Yeah, he won the election allright, 5-4, capturing 50% of the womens' vote, 100% of the African American vote and 100% of the Italian vote.  Obama can win in a landslide but this will not prevent the ususal suspects from insisting that somehow Obama's victory in 2008 is illegitimate, if he wins with over 350 electoral votes and by wide margins in the popular vote.

Now, to be honest, like Daily Buzz, I don't expect any of the Obama hate crew around here to ease up one little bit, no matter what the margin of victory for Obama.  Already the seeds are being sown that somehow if Obama and the Dems win in a massive landslide, it will be "tainted" by "electoral fraud".  The posts about ACORN engaging in "fraud" that are, in typical GOP propaganda fashion, fact free, show us the pattern here.

    The short answer is "no".

The longer answer is that politics never stops. Never. There will be rumors and positioning going on even while the Titanic sinks and Rome burns.

I used to think that Clinton was about the worst president we could have, and then we got Bush. So I'm not going to say that Obama can't be worse than Bush, but I will say that he'll have to try pretty hard to pull it off.

Ive got mixed feelings about whoever wins the election whether its dem or repub

I dont particularly hate either candidate, its a lot better than the choices we've had in the past 2 elections IMO.  Theres certain things I dislike and like about both, however theres more I dislike about the republican candidates this election than the democrats.

the country is in a mess that neither candidate will be able to fix in one term.  Its likely our economy will not bounce back for another 5-8 years.  We've just started to see the downfall and you can bet your ass whoever is elected our next president will be held accountable regaurdless of what they do to try and correct it.

I dont see either Obama or McCain serving more than one term because of this.  if Obama is elected, that will be it for the Dems for a while.  It could be even worse if McCain gets voted into office for republicans.

This may be a bit of on the "conspiracy" side, but if a McCain does get voted in this election it could possibly open the door for the independants to slip in next election (which would be great!).  Reason being, after 12 years of republican presidential lead and a slumping economy, Americans may be more open to someone else to take a swing at the ball.

so no matter who wins this election, its not going to be a victory for them.  Expect them to be the future fall-guy for our current situation as well as its downward trend for the next 5-8 years.

Oh man, I don't even know where to begin with this thread.  So many to reply too.  First of all, SioBabble, you're living in a dream world.  I don't ever remember Republicans calling Clinton's election illegitimate.  Sure they weren't happy, but he won fair and square.  In fact, it is Democrats calling Bush's 2000 election illegitimate.

As far as shutting up and getting on with their lives, tell me there aren't going to be Democrats who are going to hate Bush and blame him for all of America's woes long after he is gone.  People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.  Even though I disagree with DailyBuzz politically, I respect him for admitting that Bush's election still bothers him.

Finally, even though it probably won't be heeded, my advice to everyone is to not let what happens in Washington affect their personal happiness.  I say this from personal experience.  When Clinton got elected in 1992, I was down in the dumps for a long time.  I couldn't stand Clinton for the eight years he was in office.  I loved to blame him for all the bad things that happened in this country because he was President.  I gleefully rejoiced when his tenure as President ended in 2001.  It wasn't until a couple years after he was out that I realized it was a wasted effort in allowing my happiness to be dependent on who occupies the White House.  Because I believe firmly that Washington can do very little to help me become successful, it makes sense to also believe that it can't hold me back from pursuing my dreams.

So I hope I have learned my lesson.  If Obama wins this election, I don't plan on sitting around sulking and blaming all of America's troubles on Barack Obama.  I plan to live my life and pursue happiness as best I can.

Of course, if his liberal policies lead to the downfall of this country or World War III, that would be a different story. (Sorry, I just couldn't resist sticking that partisan jab in there)

Your memory is faulty.  Which is typical of your partisan kind.  You don't remember the "He's not MY President" bumper stickers coming out after November '92?

Republicans, after 12 years of holding the WH, were outraged that THEIR branch of government was taken away from them.  They immediately began searching for something, anything, to throw at Clinton.  They came up with the utter non-scandal of Whitewater, and tried desperately for four years to explain how somehow the Clintons losing money on a real estate deal constituted corruption.

The original special prosecutor looking into Whitewater couldn't find anything to prosecute, so it was arranged to have him replaced by "Judge" Starr.  When Starr announced that HE couldn't find anything to prosecute, he was browbeaten into searching for something, anything to prosecute Clinton on for the crime of beating the pants off of Poppy Bush.

Eventually they found the Monica Lewinsky affair, and desperately tried to fabricate a perjury trap to finally get Clinton for his real crime: being elected to the office that the Republicans thought belonged to their party.

This is what happened.  That you deny it did indicates that you're yet another deluded GOP drone who spits out talking points issued by hatemeisters.

"He's not my President"?  Are you sure you're not referring to Bush haters?  Of course, I remember the "Don't blame me, I voted for Bush" bumper stickers.  But there was never any accustions of cheating on the part of Clinton.

Tried to fabricate a perjury charge?  Apparently you forgot that Bill Clinton was disbarred for perjury.  And not by the Republican Congress.  The Supreme Court did that.
