McCain has made some political choices which compromised his integrity. Not at all uncommon when you have to face down a constituency that holds your career in their hands. However, I think any true racist could not support McCain because he has changed his stance on the issues that were viewed as racially inflammatory. He also has an adopted daughter from Bangladesh.

Sarah Palin, on the other hand, I could see pulling the racist vote (and being proud of it).

EDIT: If this phantom poll carries any weight whatsoever, which I highly doubt, then it's not just republicans. I think the racists you are referring to are of the 'pale-face' variety, which means ALL of them would generally vote for the white candidate; democrats, independents, as well as republicans.

In the end, you can't just brand republicans as racists (the same way you can't brand someone with an ethnic name as a terrorist).

Ive got some news for you.EVERYONE in the world is at the very least prejudiced if not racist. Most people just dont say what they are thinking out loud.

Define what a racist is 1st off let me help you out there:CLICKY

I believe you are DOUBLE the racist that anyone else is because YOU chose to make it a talking point.Could it be that you are the racist here and are merely attempting to point the finger of blame in order to distract?

Just remember that if 1 finger is pointing at something there are 3 more pointing right back at you.

    What is your physical limit?

The longer Obama or his supporters hold up the race card, the farther he moves into the losing position. Everyone know's racism exists, just as ageism or sexism exists. At least in this situation the republicans know better than to use them as ammunition.

I'm a straight forward independant, I have no party loyalty. Both parties want me, yet both are failing in swaying me. As I see it both are offering up the same thing this year, inexperienced nobodies and pandering insiders. All the more reason to not vote at all, I think everyone should just stay home and go with a vote of no confidence.

I agree with alot of what you said. I wish there was some way that we could get a vote of no confidence with not only our presidential  cndidates but the majority of our congress as well.  We really do need a house cleaning , and the Senate right now is as corrupt as it gets. Many people are only voting for McCain because they are scared to death of Obama running this country into it's grave. Though I am wondering if it is a futile effort considering Obama has  the electorial votes.  When looking over my ballot choices for even senators to choose from here in my district, there aren't any real options. My district only has one decent man in the house, he actually voted no for the bailout both times, and our senators are useless.  tHough I think that not voting at all means we are  allowing whatever happens to happen, someone will still be elected regardless of our votes or not, and by not voting we are saying we do not care what they do with our country.

The shoe is on the other foot now.

    And that is why...

Conservatives' pessimism is conducive to their happiness in three ways. First, they are rarely surprised -- they are right more often than not about the course of events. Second, when they are wrong they are happy to be so. Third, because pessimistic conservatives put not their faith in princes -- government -- they accept that happiness is a function of fending for oneself. They believe that happiness is an activity -- it is inseparable from the pursuit of happiness.

YES, I pulled that statistic out of my ass. I wanted to see how mmorpg.com folk would react. But your answer wins. It reminds me of how people have shouted things like "off with his head" at McCain/Palin rallies.

And racists are plentiful in the south - thousands and thousands of 'black hates'. It's quite sad, just how plentiful they are. Last night I was talking to a girl at a bar and she was ashamed to be related to Robert E. Lee. I was like "why? he was a great leader". She said because of the racist conotations. (my take - her family is racist - from where I live, this isn't a far strech). I feel bad for my friends who have to hear "I hate black people" bickering often at their home life. But the civil war was from 1861–1865, so having great grandparents who hated black people is even a smaller strech. And, well, one thing leads to another.

That's the keyword "OUR", who does this country belong to now? It's certainly not the people. They've sold us out to fill their pockets, damned with the future or our well being and stability.

Look at the crisis we're in today. It's something we've faced before, it was successfully turned around by helping the people and ignoring the slime. WHat do we do this time? Give to the slime so they can continue to swindle, while people are going bankrupt left and right ending up homeless and jobless. That's the future they're setting up for us, now they want to gamble our savings on these slime.

I may not be helping by not voting, I'm perfectly aware of that. However, how am I helping by voting? The two likely electee's pushed this outcome.

O.O what is up with this topic.  1st take a history lesson before you go spouting McCain off as a Warmonger.  In reality its people who have served to higher ranks in the military that have had the least amount of wars/conflicts as president.  Its presidents who don't know what war is like who get us into the worst conflicts.

Lets look at history compared to the rhetoric Obama is spouting.  His Tax Policy has been tried before, in the Great Depression.  As a result we had the worst year during the Great Depression.  His foriegn policy doctrine is part of the reason WW2 got to how bad it got.  Inaction by the United States letting Japan and Germany grow in power, while trying to seek peace agreements with both powers.  Obama is a known liar.  Look at his debates from 2004,  he has not achieved that with his voting record.

Your assumption that there are no black people in the republican party is racist.

There are black people who won't vote for a person simply because he is black.  Your assumption that black people are stupid and irresponsible is racist.

You've made a lot of assumptions today, though, haven't you?

Lets see 25million black people of voting age  in the USA, perhaps 20 million will vote, 20% of those do not support Obama, 4 million and one third of those are racist then?  So 1.3 million racist black people will not vote for Obama. Thanks for clearing that up Thrakk...

If McCain supporters don't like this song, then they really are racists.

While I've yet to see any facts about a claim like this, it actually is not that far a stretch to believe.  I live in Southern Missouri, and while I know plenty of Obama supporters, I know more than enough McCain supporters.  My grandmother was even going to vote democrat if it was Clinton that got the nomination, but as soon as it was Obama she decided she was gonna vote McCain, and specifically said it was because she didn't want a black man in office.

My dad has always been a republican, but every time Obama comes up he talks down on him for no reason other than he is black.  I have an entire group of friends who refuse to vote for a black man.  Equally, I have a couple friends who are undecided and who might vote McCain, but for legitimate reasons.  And I have just as many friends who are just as strong in favor of Obama instead.

But it is not a far stretch to think that many people support McCain for the simple reason that Obama is black.

There are a TON of new voters this year that are black above the age of 30 that have NEVER voted before in their life. Why are they signing up now? Well it could be because Obama has great points. Could be because Obama wants change. Could be because Obama will finally bring change and they don't want another Bush, sure.

However, I bet half of the African American population are voting Obama because he is black. I've heard people talk about Obama saying they are only voting for him because of his color. Finally, a black man in office. They can give 2 shits about what he represents. But he's black.

The race card can be played 2 ways my friend. I was once voting Mccain and now I'm voting Obama because I like what he stands for and what he wants to change in this country. I think the racist card needs to stop on both sides in this election. I think Mccain himself is racist. Who's to say Obama isn't racist against whites that are friends to the Afircan American community? lol. You don't know what's in his head. He's already talking about helping Africa out with tons of money that we don't have. Which I'm for helping Africa but the fact is, racism is stupid and it needs to stop.

    Blacks can be racist

    Whites can be racist

    Racism is stupid

    Drop it!

Btw, Precusor you're kind of annoying. Always posting links. I hope you read books to back up all of the media coverage you read.

I think some white people are scared if a Black man gets in office this country may go crazy. Blacks thinking they control whites, racism playing the cards more then ever, etc.... Just my .02. I hope Obama gets in but I hope all of the African American community keep their cool. Be happy but don't start being racist towards us. I get dirty looks in my town from blacks all the time and I live in a military town. It sucks. I hate racist people, black, white, mexian, etc....Racism is for lozers.
