McCain tells supporters not to be afraid of Obama

I actually have more respect for McCain after watching this. The woman towards the end of the video is the best part though. "I can't trust Obama..He's uhh..he's an Arab." And John McCain is like, "No no no, he's not."

Seen the others? He seemed like he was getting pretty annoyed with someone (Campaign/ Palin, his supporters? ).  I admire honesty, which he practiced .To bad he hasn't done so,up until now (about these issues at least).

What bothers me the most is his statement  "Country First". How can you say that, then attempt to portray the next possible President as a terrorist/sympathizer? That's very harmful to our countries stability, not to mention dangerous. Ah, gotta stop .. but I can't resist....

Yeah, I'm done with politics here, not the time or the place.

I hear ya, I'm getting kind of burned out on talking about it too. I'm about to leave and go to Ra again(Sushi Bar here in Corona) and I just KNOW that all we are going to talk about are politics. We'll try not to, but it's inevitable that it will come up.

I just found this video to be a refreshing change, instead of attacking Obama he's actually sticking up for him. I think you're right, he seems to be getting annoyed and/or frustrated with all of this.

I feel bad for McCain. Not because he is down in the polls or because he is running his last big campaign, but because he finds himself surrounded by these nasty people who don't really like him, and who he probably doesn't care for himself. You get the feeling that if Palin were to call for McCain's head these people would pounce on him and tear him limb from limb in seconds.

I have to wonder if Palin won't do something similar to this to save her future political career if McCain loses the election. Even if she won't turn on him immediately, I bet she will do so in a few years when she goes after the next step up the ladder like a Senate seat. McCain shouldn't have chosen Palin for a dozen reasons, but the main reason is that she is not his kind of politician. McCain deserves better and I just hope McCain doesn't let Palin use him after this election whether he wins or not.

Who wrote this?  You'd be surprised:

--Barack Obama is not my ideal candidate for president. (In fact, I made the maximum donation to John McCain during the primaries, when there was still hope he might come to his senses.) But I now see that Obama is almost the ideal candidate for this moment in American history. I disagree with him on many issues. But those don't matter as much as what Obama offers, which is a deeply conservative view of the world. Nobody can read Obama's books (which, it is worth noting, he wrote himself) or listen to him speak without realizing that this is a thoughtful, pragmatic, and prudent man. It gives me comfort just to think that after eight years of George W. Bush we will have a president who has actually read the Federalist Papers.

I'll let you mull it over before I provide the answer.

This is going to do a lot of damage if left unchecked.. This kind of slanderous labeling is like calling for blood in a confused and incoherent country...

And I have a feeling that violence will follow this election very closely, as some borders have been crossed that can really be undone.. Well easily anyway..

We could be staring a civil structural collapse in the face, being caused from the inside. So many people are worried about war in the other countries yet will shout to wage war against their own citizens in the name of a "nominee" for the leader position.. This is how tribes form and that's when they go to war..

Calling him out on his ideas are one thing, but defining him as the "enemy" and a "terrorist" is another thing.. That is a call to arms.. That is a message of war...

We wouldn't survive a year if the civil mass fell into chaos over an election...

I saw this video too. As much as I disagree with John McCain's politics I do have a respect for him after seeing this. He's caught between the scylla and charibdes right now. It seems fairly obvious that the latest attacks on Obama and Palin's "pallin' with terrorist" statement are backfireing on him, but he still has to show that he is still a contender in this election even though he's lagging in the polls and only a few weeks away from Election Day. I truely believe that McCain's downfall was bending to the will of the GOP base and picking Palin as a runningmate and the latest downturn in the economy. Palin has really damaged his credibility and well...no one really knew how bad the ecomomy was going to go. McCain is a good guy and he really wants to serve (and has served) his country in the best way he can. So with that said I will tip my hat to Mr. McCain for trying to set the record straight and dispelling some of the fear and hatred coming from some of his supporters.

I agree. Although, McCain is still running a massive character deficit since 2000. It'll take a lot more true sentiment to even come close to reestablishing the figure he was before he hired the Bush campaign staff. Evem then, I'm not sure I could even regain the same respect I used to have for John McCain.
