A perfect greeting to you all,
I love WAR. I mean I really do. I like the graphic and, erm, yes, and I .. the graphics look good. I really mean that. Yeah!
So. now I have a little problem. I like the game, but - B U T - Be Ju Tee, I am not extenting my membership past the 30 days.
"WHY?????" - OMG I can hear you screaming this at me. Well, the answer is easy, what is the answer?
Let's put it this way. This post will get as much attention as /ooc LFG in WAR. Sometimes I sit down and think: "Hey, maybe it is you. You expect too much"
Are we expecting too much nowadays? Really, are we asking too much of an MMORPG?
Remember UO, Meridian, EQ1? Pure adrenalin! No Graphics, stupid grind, you had wrong target to nuke (your fault), quests (well you need to find them) and so on and so on.
I don't know what to say anymore! There seems to be a connection between graphic detail and less community. Lately I helped a guy on my server and he just ran off after he was finsihed in the middle of a mob fight. OK, there was little negative impact of dying (as usual) in WAR.
Did I grow up? I don't know. Does this in anyway have to do with growing up? Actually, this cannot be the reason. Because, I started EQ1 again and I had a blast. Problem was, there was like only me on the whole world. Ok, ok, I have the same feeling in reality (sometimes)
So I ask here, today: What the fawk is wrong with us? Are we like a shopping addicted 19 years old girl, that has her monkey if not spending a 1000 EXP per seconds and leveiing faster than my pumpkin in the greenhouse on Guana?
Where has the fun gone?
Guys - where is the fun !!!!!!!!!!!!
Yours,
Kind regards

Fun comes from community. That's - in my world - the ultimate truth. WAR gives me a hard time because I inherently find the classes, the mechanic and the RvR aspect great fun but it's pretty hard to find "community" in this game.
Community, like sharing victories, losses, fighting together, maybe just chatting. I established some contacts during my time by now, but it's way harder in WAR than it was in some other games, like LotRO e.g.
The upside of the "oh so complicated"-LFG chat is, and Mark jacobs seems to deny this, people have to talk to each other to team up. In WAR, so many community founding things are automated, like open groups, no need to group for public quests, no need to group for RvR, scenarios etc., you don't NEED to get in contact to other people beyond "hi... hi... you PQing atm?... y... k..."
You really need a guild for this, and guilds are also very many but very few that feature community.
