I am thinking of calling it quits the gameworld just fells so empty In Praag after tier 2 i didnt run into another soul most of the time it was soloing PQs till stage 2 and doing scen over and over again. No one talks at all it seems.
No one attacked any keeps during active times and there was no RvR (this was RvR server with equal PoP). And the city there was no sign of life or any chat in general chat, I remember my guildes saying this will get better once people hit 40s and it has not changed a bit and we lost 1/4th so far and the other 1/4th barely login. Main issue i hear over and over again is lack of community, nothing to do other than scens . Scens like Tor Anroc only encourages people to quit this game
Do you think this well change?

There is no dead zone here.... but the towels are a little bit scratchy!
i was hoping someone would say no dead zone here got the verizon network you just ruined it..
i agree. my server is like a ghost town. i'm on monolith order and i just counted up all the online people between levels 20-40 using a series of who lists and came up with 179. this is at 7:30pm pacific on tuesday.
there's just not enough people. too many servers available to choose from? not sure. they should have let them be crowded in the beginning and let people fan out as they levelled or something.
i don't see it changing. unless they consolidate servers which they aren't going to do as it would be negative PR and go against their whole "we sold the most copies of a mmo at launch ever" campaign.
i cancelled tonight and noticed that the cancel feature is just choosing cancel. no asking why, not begging you to stay. they seem just fine letting you go.
As far as the chat, I can easily say general will be dead because people are concerened about lvls, and gear. Every new released mmo is like this.
Don't come at me saying blah, blah, blah, this game was nothing like that. Theres always exceptions. But generally game chats are near dead at opening times like this.
As far as a dead zone, well not much to say about that. I hear it all the time but rarely experience it. (Probably cause I play maybe 1-2 hours a day)
But if your quitting, sorry to hear. Hope you can find a game that gives you enjoyment. I found some here.
Enjoy : )
I have a guild with almost 100 people.
There is someone always on for me, peak times ahs 20+ people on, and its an RP server so people talk more than they do on other server. so i consider myself lucky. I am enjoying it and loving the leveling.. and its all good Sorry to hear you are having bad luck.
That "feeling" like you are the handful of survivors at the beginning of 'Day of Dead' shouting "Is there anyone there?" to a deserted city is common among the small (5) group of (real-life) friends I play with. LOL, I am still waiting on the zombie hordes to turn up.
At first we thought it was just a bad server choice so we changed to high-high. It improved but we realized that it was the game design (scenarios) that was sucking life out of the world and making it seem empty. Outwith scenarios, the game in high-high still felt very empty comparative to other games we have played.
We have been in 2 guilds now. Left because they were run by, and full of, petulant children. Maybe we were just unlucky, but these have been my worst guild experiences in my 9 years of playing mmo's. It really left a bad taste in our mouths.
I tried to convince my mates to stay, at least until we can find a decent guild. They have already left complaining that they are sick of running the same scenarios again and again. They are going back to EVE, WOW and LOTRO.
I will labour on as I think the game has great potential and I am little more patient (maybe because I play more casual) than my mates. Scenarios dont bug me so much as I play 1-3 hours when I have time. If I was playing 4-6 hour sessions then those scenarios would get old fast.
Now before you ask, "Can I have their stuff?"; I have already claimed it all har har.
I think Mythic will take steps do make the servers seem more lively, communicative and full, but the challenge is if they sort this out in time before more people leave.
Regards
Melmoth
p.s. I play on Euro servers
