    Victory points.

This is yet another example of how crappy the internal and beta testing for Warhammer has been.

Why they have not acted on this immediately is an indication of how they are going to handle cheaters. They plan on doing nothing.

Really true, I just can't believe this.

Fixing it is one thing.  I don't think they will ban anyone over this.

I love how its always only 1 side doing the hacking, exploiting etc ...

I am sure there are just as many ORDER doing the same shit.

Well that would be a great way to level off the population imbalance lol (banning them).

To previous poster before you, I'm sure that Order can as well.   However as someone else said, that is not the point.   I won't do it, nor bring it up to others I know at all.   If someone has to stoop to cheating in a video game, I think that speaks very poorly to their character.   I'm sure there are just as many bad elements on Order side percentage wise - there are just more people overall Dest side, so there will be more people overall doing it.....and more people knowing I'd think would spread the word faster to boot.   And frankly I'd always know in the back of my mind that I did that......and would feel like my character was "tainted" due to that cheating.   There is something to be said for earning things legitimately in life (gaming or not)......doing things the right  way can be tedious, but the sense of accomplishment gained and self-respect earned is something that can't be found any other way.

i know right? thats why we have seen 100 thread about how order is capping zones in 20 minutes?

    /sarcasm off

seriously look into this topic for a few minutes and you might actually know why this thread is getting the attention it is ..it is not because of Order it is bc of Destruction...

YES, I am sure this has happened on both sides, but what side is doing os so extensively that it merits such threads? DESTRUCTION

I play a lot of games...

In beta you can only catch so many things, I like how you know for a fact they plan on doing nothing, when there constant patches seem to be showing the opposite.  Im sorry were you even in the Beta testing for Warhammer? Anyway that is irelevant if you have a problem with the situation, you can always quit and go to another game.

  • is there any sort of mod or somewhere to look on the GUI that displays an actual numerical indicator of VP? to me it just seems like its a slider that mysteriously moves

Good question......and also they need to really document how movement is calculated.   At least if they have, I haven't seen it.    For example - for 5 hours on Saturday night, hundreds of Order held the Keeps on my server (Ulthuan) in both Saphery and Avelorn (and more for all I know, as I know mass RvR was going on all weekend).   Typically the big Dest zerg guild (Six Mouths) comes in an sweeps the Keeps at all times of day.   Yet when we held them for that 5 hour period, we STILL had not turned the bar to Order in either zone.   And we did continue to recap BO's as well when Dest would turn them.    We were well coordinated among our alliance channel as well as the guild officers alliance channel - calling location, numbers, letting know how many people to send to each area and where.......we are outnumbered right now on my server so we HAVE to do that to succeed.   And it works......we owned them until I went to bed, then we took the guild banners down so the Dest zerg guild couldn't have them and skirmishes probably continued till the sun rose.   Anyway point being - it would be nice to not only see the numbers, but also fully understand how it moves.

Maybe the Dest were just doing what this thread is about, in order to prevent us from turning the bar.

Someone mentioned we're paying for beta testing the game.

Man, if I got 10 dollars for every game that I heard that said, I'd be swimming in dough.

Earlier someone mentioned this exploit has been around for several weeks. This is the first I've heard of it. And I'm Destruction. Even if I had known about it, I would never use it...we demand honesty from the developers, so shouldn't we likewise be honest with them and the player base?

Oh, how decieving and mischivous, cheating. Although it has to be put to a stop, it fits the destruction side, you must admit.

Bwahahahahaha... too bad I'm sissy Order.

In beta this was caught and turned in/reported by me and several others within the guild I was in and it still made it in. Pretty much and a good deal of people who were in beta from beginning to end can back me up on this one (check beta archives), a lot of things got missed due to fear of getting banned for not posting in a manner on the bug forums that they wanted, looks like it back fired.

You get VP by doing this. So all you have to do is cap a couple BO(not even the keeps!) then do this and you cap the zone.

There are two organised WARBANDS which are doing this and i am sure they are quite aware that they are exploiting a broken game mechanism. Really this is killing T4 RVR. I am fan and all but can't keep subscription on if this continues.

Don't you think Mythic probably knows about this and is working to fix it. I mean seriously the game is only about a month old, of course there are issues that need to be solved.

Mythic has known about this issue and others for a long time with the RvR mechanics being bugged. They have also said it would take months to cap a city. Obviously they were hoping for a little time to figure out fixes. Well too bad they didn't have faith in gamers and their ability to cap cities within a month and .... well I am sure MJ will say it is all part of War and RvR. Sounds oddly familiar to .... another game.

Yes, probably why we get annoyed with the schedules MMOs make and are blinded by assumptions .

I would argue that working with the time table they had and really trying to anticipate all that they could that things were bound to fall through the cracks. Does that mean they wont fix it, come on that's absurd. Of course Mythic wants all players to have an enjoyable experience while playing. All I'm saying is that things like this might take time. Let's not forget Pally's and their broken reckoning ability when WoW first came out. If you want to talk about broken things in MMO's there's a prime example. If you don't believe me google "Paladin reckoning kazzak" without the quotation marks.

Everything was perfect when WoW released.  It was an immaculate conception.

There is a bit of a difference between one class having a bugged skill  and exploiting a PvE encounter and the entire concept of end game challenge functioning improperly such that it affects every player on a server.

You are right that things of this nature take time and it also makes me think that Mythic should have waited a little longer to release.  There are a lot of things that just need more attention from a play test perspective.  I'm sure WOTLK forced their hand more than they would have liked so the choice wasn't an easy one.

I really don't understand this.  What is up with people, like the OP, who state a flaw or bug that has just emerged, then they state they are going to leave if it continues.  The bug just got discovered.  Do you really think Mythic is going to turn a blind eye on this issue?  No.

So why threaten to leave when everybody and their mamma knows that it will be fixed in a matter of weeks, or even less.  Now if this was an ongoing thing, like the over powered Warlocks in WoW, then I can understand such a post.  But this has only been known for, hmmmmm, 3 days think?

The fix for this is really simple.  Make a zone that does not give VP when rezzed in.  Place that zone in ever lava location in the game.  When people die in those zones and get rezzed, no VP is rewarded.  Takes about 1 week to impliment.
