nice anti-gold spam update

I have always hated these people so I was particularly pleased to see this in the patch Notes:

"The war against the gold sellers continues! We have introduced a new "report gold seller" command that works as follows: when you type /rg, the game will automatically fill out a gold seller appeal using the name of the last player who sent you a tell. If you get an unwanted /tell from a pesky gold seller, type /rg to start an appeal and get them busted!"

What do other people think?

I love this. I used to fill out the appeals for every single gold seller that sent me a tell in the hopes that Mythic was doing something. However, as that got more time consuming and annoying as gold seller tells increased, I simply ignored them and stopped filling out appeals.

I hope this very simplified /rg system will get more people to report gold sellers and end this war on gold sellers! :)

They are doing a good job with gold spammers, after the patch last weekend I have only recieved one tell.

This tell was hardly readable because of the new methods used to bring them down.

    It read something like this.

Buy wow seven gold , com five dollr - ten Gold.

Poor guy got the banhammer afterwards.

    STOP WHINING!

Do be careful though. A guildmate and close friend of mine, got CoD'd 10 gold from one of the goldsellers. DON'T OPEN ANY SUSPICIOUS MAIL! It could cost you.

The best anti-gold-seller policy is making a game were people dont NEED to buy gold because the income VS expenses ratio is friendly for casual and normal players. Insofar WAR is good, since there is nothing additional to spent money on than the one you get from quests and loot anyway.

Honestly, I think in Warhammer, Income FAR exceeds any expenses you'll ever have... buying gold in any MMO is crazy, but buying it for Warhammer especially is INSANE.

No need to worry about not being able to spend gold.  Inflation will happen.

I used the system today because I started a new character and forgot to make him anonymous and I have to say that the system is really slick.  It automatically entered the spammer's name and copied the entire text of the tell right into the report details.  All I had to do was hit submit.  I agree with previous posters about there really being no need for buying gold at this point but I'm happy the system is there because who knows what will happen in the economy as the game changes, adds gear and expansions.  They preempted the need rather than sitting back until the problem was too large to manage.  /kudos
