Have any of you guys had a go at Ymirs Pass, the new area? What about you Avery?
Ymir's pass isn't in the game yet.
People are still waiting for it to be implemented. Don't you even play the game?
If you played and read the AoC forums you would know that...
it's on the TL server, so anyone with an active account can test it
Oh, that explains it.
Like I said on the AoC forums when TL was brought up. I already have two games I'm beta testing FOR FREE, I don't feel the need to have to pay to beta test a game, just because it was released way to early.
Who cares if you want to play on TL or not? WargPest wanted to know about Ymir's Pass, you insinuated that he couldn't because it wasn't in game. But everyone can in fact see how the new content is working, and I doubt anybody cares if you want to test it or not.
He could play it himself if he has a valid account and actually playes the game. No need to ask about it.
Actually, if you have multitable hard drives like I do you can't do the test-live copy to another hard drive, and a lot of people don't want to take up another 10-20gigs for the test live game client.
Considering that the person in question spends a lot of his forum time (here and on AoC forums) ripping into people for not supporting the game, I would consider that very hypocritical of him.
BTW it isn't 10-20GB it is about 23-27GB for the install
To say an mmo is unfinished is naive, but to launch an mmo with major, critical features missing and hundreds of crash to desktop bugs occurring is simply insulting to the customer. Conan wasn't ready for launch, even in it's current state it doesn't sound like it would of been ready for launch.
The customer service and tech support was also terrible at the start, so it's little wonder users got frustrated and quit. The sooner it goes tits up, the better. They have some talented staff who deserve to be working in a project which has a budget and development timeframe which gives them half a chance to show it.
i agree the game has turned around a lot since launch. i can play for hours w/o crashing. lag spikes are still there. pvp system is falling into place. the game is good again. i wanted to try war but from what ive read since that game launched its not a good idea

That's odd...
I have heard the exact same thing about AoC since it launched, I guess we shouldn't believe everything we read.
Seriously though...
After AoC, I will wait at least 6 months to a year before trying an MMO, dealing with that crap isn't funny anymore. You would think that after 10+ years, the MMO genre would be mature, and developers would be able to put out a polished product. If these developers were creating productivity or business related software, they would have been sued into oblivion by now, and the directors and marketing folks would be digging in trashcans for their supper, but since it is "just a game" people keep allowing these folks to continue on with their bad business practices.
I completly agree. I think we has a gaming community should just stop buying games at launch and say until its ready like it is at the usual 6month mark we are buying. Sadly, this will never happen

I think AoC is doing great now.
