Now I agree some "trolls" are perhaps taking it a bit far, and theyre just as bad as the rabid fans, however paradoxically, they feed each other.

Secondly you'll notice I dont make personal attacks against people who arent much into WAR, theyre entitled to their opinion.

That wasn't an attack on anyone before it's quoted and flamed, it was a simple question.
Darkfall's features and official website depict the game as a good sandbox or semi sandbox depending on how you class the word, it sounds a good game to those that are after something like that. Personally i hate open PvP and PvP loot etc but i don't slam the game for this one feature, i'm gonna be trying the game out for ALL the other features.
Company argument : People say the game will fail cause the company is young, unknown or too poor.. Do you who believe this really know what your saying? thats like saying a company like Blizzard showed up on the scene with billions of dollars and a good reputation before anyone even knew who they were.. EVERYONE starts at the bottom, doesn't mean they can't make an outstanding game.. a prime example would be the Elite game series, you think David Braben and Ian Bell made it with lots of money considering they were at college when they designed it, look at how popular that was, it CREATED the space genre for gaming and it's still popular today, specially considering that Elite IV is in the making and due out sometime in late 2009 i believe.
Back on topic though and the reason Darkfall is slated as being the "Holy Grail" as some would word it is because Adventurine dare to break from the current boring mold and take the genre back to it's early days as being exciting, huge, complex and envigourating. No other company has truelly tried this in recent years, because since WoW hit big numbers they've all wanted to aim at that crowd completely ignoring the millions that don't play it or aint bothered about it. And before someone brings numbers into things remember, there are many MMORPG players in the world than the ten million or there abouts that supposedly play WoW (i say supposedly as they count subsciptions not individuals, more than half of WoW players likely have multiple subs) including a guy who supposedly has 36 subs (posted in these MMORPG.com forums somewhere)
The bottom line is people attack Darkfall because they don't have anything better to do, they think of every new MMO coming out as a threat to their game instead of reading up on it and seeing it's completely different in features and therefore no threat at all, they attack Darkfall and those that look forward to it because the company isn't well known TO THEM, do you think Adventurine would have made Greek news if they were not popular in their own right? so what if they are only local, EVERYONE starts somewhere.
As for the attacks about people following Tasos blindly, thats upto them if they want to, no need to attack them because they seriously look forward to something and believe in the developers. If you attack them for this then you should attack the blind followers of Blizzard and other companies too, doesn't happen though does it?
Bottom line is Adventurine are making what sounds like a good game that breaks from todays mold, if it doesn't interest you then fair enough, leave it be and don't bother to post about Darkfall.

And for the record, if you have indeed gone through my WAR related posts you'll notice I voice concerns about my class being broken, and the t3 scenario Tor Anroc being unfair. Unlike yourself, you will never admit to seeing anything wrong with Darkfall. I am at least not taking a blind faith stance.
Secondly you'll notice I dont make personal attacks against people who arent much into WAR, theyre entitled to their opinion.

So how about simply leaving personal attacks and such out of it, if like me your looking forward to the game then discuss things and keep things civil, if your not looking forward to the game or haven't read ANYTHING official about it why are you in the Darkfall forums to begin with? That wasn't an attack on anyone before it's quoted and flamed, it was a simple question.
Darkfall's features and official website depict the game as a good sandbox or semi sandbox depending on how you class the word, it sounds a good game to those that are after something like that. Personally i hate open PvP and PvP loot etc but i don't slam the game for this one feature, i'm gonna be trying the game out for ALL the other features.
Company argument : People say the game will fail cause the company is young, unknown or too poor.. Do you who believe this really know what your saying? thats like saying a company like Blizzard showed up on the scene with billions of dollars and a good reputation before anyone even knew who they were.. EVERYONE starts at the bottom, doesn't mean they can't make an outstanding game.. a prime example would be the Elite game series, you think David Braben and Ian Bell made it with lots of money considering they were at college when they designed it, look at how popular that was, it CREATED the space genre for gaming and it's still popular today, specially considering that Elite IV is in the making and due out sometime in late 2009 i believe.
Back on topic though and the reason Darkfall is slated as being the "Holy Grail" as some would word it is because Adventurine dare to break from the current boring mold and take the genre back to it's early days as being exciting, huge, complex and envigourating. No other company has truelly tried this in recent years, because since WoW hit big numbers they've all wanted to aim at that crowd completely ignoring the millions that don't play it or aint bothered about it. And before someone brings numbers into things remember, there are many MMORPG players in the world than the ten million or there abouts that supposedly play WoW (i say supposedly as they count subsciptions not individuals, more than half of WoW players likely have multiple subs) including a guy who supposedly has 36 subs (posted in these MMORPG.com forums somewhere)
The bottom line is people attack Darkfall because they don't have anything better to do, they think of every new MMO coming out as a threat to their game instead of reading up on it and seeing it's completely different in features and therefore no threat at all, they attack Darkfall and those that look forward to it because the company isn't well known TO THEM, do you think Adventurine would have made Greek news if they were not popular in their own right? so what if they are only local, EVERYONE starts somewhere.
As for the attacks about people following Tasos blindly, thats upto them if they want to, no need to attack them because they seriously look forward to something and believe in the developers. If you attack them for this then you should attack the blind followers of Blizzard and other companies too, doesn't happen though does it?
Bottom line is Adventurine are making what sounds like a good game that breaks from todays mold, if it doesn't interest you then fair enough, leave it be and don't bother to post about Darkfall.
