They really need to do something to stop everyone from just doing scenarios. Not just that, people only do 3 scenarios after t1. WTF ya know? That's like .01% of the game. The game is great, but the only good action is usually in these 3 scenarios and it is really killing the game. I wish they had never even made the scenarios. This game would be 100x better without them.

Yeah cause WAR got the damn WoW trained chimps in its game now and all those dudes did for almost four years was run four battlegrounds.
Of course it doesn't bother them to run 3-4 scenarios until tier 4.
To the person who mentioned defending.. again.. the irony is that if you read the WOW forums you'll see people talking about getting wiped on the city leaders because players ARE defending their city leaders Now. ready the reports from the 'city seige' in warhammer where order sat around queueing for scenarios while their city was conquered.
Well, that's true, but to be fair there's a lot of reasons for that, not the least of which is the game being so new and everyone is still pretty low level. It's also extremely difficult to put up any kind of resistance against a team unless you have a team yourself, and your typical PuG group just won't cut it. People find it much easier to solo-queue for scenarios than to arrange a group to fight back. I'm sure the guild that performed the siege had also encouraged their members to level quickly, specifically for an event like that, while the Order had no such encouragement and so were left woefully unprepared.
I don't know whether that's good or bad but either way you can't be blaming the game just because the players are too lazy/stupid to do what they're supposed to be doing.
You can totally blame the game actually. Warhammer Online is an RvR war game (well its supposed to be anyway) in which the players can choose to bypass the war if they want to by grinding through PvE content and scenarios in the pursuit of their own character improvement. Sure if you want to you can take over a keep or defend your capital city......but it doesnt actually matter if you do or not. This is why so many players dont care if the opposing side storms their keeps and ransacks their cities. It just doesnt have any meaningful impact on anyone. Ok so you might not have easy access to a few bits of gear if you lose a keep or city......so what? Who cares? Besides you can just go and take it back afterwards anyway.
The only incentive Mythic seems to be able to offer its players to go RvR is more exp, more RP, more gear blah blah blah. Its as though WARs playerbase are all level grinding junkies and the only way Mythic can get the masses to focus heavily on the RvR conflict is by enticing them with more "stuff".
How about designing the game like a proper RvR game in the first place? Instead Mythic have decided to cater to EVERYONE including the people that dont like RvR, so instead of a decent game that focuses on one play style and does it well we get one where the players can choose to ignore the conflict completely and do brain numbing PvE quests or sit in little mini-side games. It has spread its players all over the place and because no-one HAS to work together towards any particular goal other than their own level growth then few people will. It never really seems to matter who has control of any particular zone because the game is designed to allow everyone to carry on doing their own thing regardless.
You can hardly blame the players for this. They are given three choices. Do PvE quests and improve your character. Do scenarios and improve your character. Do RvR battles and improve your character. The PvE aspect of the game is the part the players see everywhere and although you can ignore the quests they are the primary means for going up levels so that is what most players are doing in WAR. Then there are the scenarios which give GUARANTEED PvP action so thats the other thing players are doing most of the time. Then you get the open RvR areas which oddly enough are actually the areas which are more out of the way and require you to progress through the PvE areas to get to them........and then when you finally get to the open RvR area for your level bracket you can often find them to be deserted. I havent seen any decent open RvR action in the game yet. Oh I'm sure its all happening in some areas like people are saying (no I'm on one of the busiest servers before you ask) but I certainly havent seen it......which is odd really because considering this is supposed to be an RvR focused game it seems to be bloody hard to actually find it.
WAR is everywhere.......but dont worry about it cos you can just pass it by.
This is just sad. Go away please, pretty much nobody on this forum cares.
No... then you have ignored 50% of the posts in the last 5 days about the lack of RvR!
And they are addressing this, on several servers this is not an issue at all. Some people have more fun playing games than recieving rewards. It is odd when someone would rather work than play a video game for fun.
This is sadly ironic and should be evidence to Mythic that RvR rewards will drive RvR! Blizz recently released Patch 3.02 and in said patch there is an achievments tab (their version of the ToK). If you kill the leaders of the major cities you get a special bear mount. There have been constant raids all weekend on all of the major cities... all for a stupid mount! There is more RvR right now in WoW than in WAR! It makes me sad, because as many have written, this game was marketed ias an RvR game. How is it that this lame PvE (wanna be PvP) game I played for the last 2.5 years can pull this off, but the RvR game we all waited for cannot? Hmm Mr. Jacobs??? Hmm???
Enough with the troll posts already, WoWs pvp blows.
If you like WoW so much play your game since finally you will have a single world pvp zone after four years.
Something we've been experiencing in DAoC and now WAR for a while.
WoW doesn't Have RvR and to be honest WoW hasn't had meaningful world pvp since Before battlegrounds when everyone used to kick the shit out of eachother in SS/TM (man those were good times).
RVR in wow? that got to be a really big joke.. where exactly is the rvr action? unless i can capture crossroads and make it a alliance base, or take over orgrimmar and make it a alliance city.. it just cant be called RVR.. rvr & pvp is not the same, because rvr dosnt need to have pvp to be rvr.
war sure has proved that RVR is not pvp
also in war i can't capture a warcamp ot really even a city in any tier all i can do is attack a city and be put in an instance of 48-48. doesn't exactly seem like a city capture to me
Where's the achievement for *defending* your capitol city? All Blizzard has done is encourage what amounts to kill-trading for raid bosses that are open to griefing by the opposing side. There is no benefit in preventing the opposing team from completing the kill, and there is no penalty for allowing them to. "Kill X for a special mount" is about all Blizzard can come up with for "content" these days.
Actually the achievement for defending your WOW capitols (! read multiple) is IN WOW now
As are achivements for killing X players defending/attacking your city etc...
And this is only the BEGINNING.
Just look at this: ALL WOTLK World PvP with mounted (manned) combat tanks, moving artillery, moving siege engines, air bombardements, anit air units, and ..... DESTRUCTABLE walls.
Have fun knocking at doors in the same copies of Keeps (knock on door, take the first left up the stairs and kill the Chief NPC in the mayhem). Do it 600 times for .... nothing... because it will be reconquered or reset the next hours.
And yes you get LOTS of honor in Wow's open world PvP in WOTLK AND it opens up raid instances and world buffs.
Every 2.5 hours availbale btw. and rewarded for your personal achievements and honor.

2 questions.
1. Do you ever have anything possitive to say about any other game other than WoW? if not, stop posting in other peoples forums. We know you don't like this game, but we don't care. Everyone will play the game for their own reasons and people won't play the game for their own reasons. You posting about them every day won't change that.
2. Do you ever say ANYTHING negative about WoW? Every game is going to have downsides in them. It's unavoidable. There will always be one aspect of a game that someone will not like. I love WoW, i've been playing and paying for 4 years now with no intention to cancel. But i still can see negative things about the game and will comment on them when asked. You have yet to unless i missed it. So unless you are someone whos only goal is to promote your game without giving any form of constructive feedback, or you are a blind fanboy that will never, ever, ever admit to yourself or others that your favorite game has negatives.
Your opinion is your opinion, you are more than welcome to have it and to express it. But there is a fine line between voiceing your opinion, and out right trolling, and that is what you have been doing.

To further flaw this arguement about WoW having more PvP, how many rewards are there in the capital city raids in WoW? 1. A bear mount which is worthless to most people since it still just runs fast.
How many rewards in a capital city raid in WAR? Tons. More rewards than we probably even konw about now. The RvR in WAr will be eternal compared to WoW's.
I wish Mythic would just get rid of scenarios period! Then build the whole game around the RVR. MMO's don't need side games borrowed from online FPS and should remain in online FPS, as those type of mini games work far better in online FPS where they were first created. I can't stand scenarios that are far removed from the world.
Can't argue with that. Instanced PVP isn't exactly the direction mythic should have taken this game. It just removes people from the actual RVR zones. That's one aspect that WoW shouldn't have had and is by far the most boring experience in that game. Especially when you get a bunch of people in there just for the sake of leeching Honor.

This is proably true minus the fact that peopel are rvring everynight in WAr and WILL BE FOR A MONTH TO COME. Where as wow pvp raids will drop down to same as "never" or "almost never" in a months time. Good story tho, playing with a half a deck is good for Euchre, not so much for making points, in fact it makes ya seem a tad desperate.

what happens when the players get the mount or achievement? will they continue raiding the cities even though there's no reason left to do so or will they go back to hard core raids like always? The new content will of course be tried out by millions around the world but pvp will lead to complaints by players asking for better balance and i honestly think it'll die out and players will start raiding again unless blizzard continues to launch content for both PvE and PvP. I guess time will tell. I give it about 6 months before one game or the other will pull ahead in the pvp department...I'm still going to stick with mythic since they essentially have more to lose then blizzard does.

If you would have played the game you would know that since Feb 2007, it has a 6 months cycle of renewing all content, professions , rewards and it's a huge success. From PVE to PVP rewards. From extra raid drops, to new extremely profitable crafted goods, from new BG gear to Arena gear.
As an example the 2.3 patch launched at the end of Oct 2007 made for a record high play during the 3 months following the update patch. It makes for very high play value even without an expansion pack. Last winter showed this.
This 6 months gear and objects cycle will continue in WotLK . It's one of the reasons the present day players don't complain anymore of "gear" reset because now everyone can choose a new gear with whatever he likes to play - every 6 months.
The only new element in WotLK will be achievements and world PvP gear and objects (titles/mounts/trinkets). So I don't understand your question. Gear and rewards are constantly upgraded in the choice of styles the player chooses.
What is the reward in War? If you EVER get to a capitol with Order.
So many blind, misguided WoW fans. Seriously can you guys not give it a rest? Not all of us like your little Nickelodoenesque pastime. Thank you please drive through.
When Mythic first announced instanced PvP I KNEW this was going to happen. Of course back then I got flamed and told that I'm just a lame blind WoW fanboy (I don't even play WoW) for pointing out the folly of instanced PvP. Now look at where we are at.
Please, Mythic, atleast make one server without scenarios and bump up the XP earned from taking keeps and battlefield objectives (and not just a weak amount like 2k exp. More like 20k). That way a lot of people who just want to RvR would be happy.
Problem with rvr in WAR is that the scenarios give out way too much experience. Either they need to drastically raise the xp in rvr(50% is not enough) or lower it in scenarios. Same with quest/public quest experience. That shit is way too low compared with scenarios. People will ALWAYS choose the road of least resistance. It's just buggers like me who go the odd way around, but we are in staggering minority.
With that said, rvr in WoW is a bleeding joke. Why? The servers can't handle the stress most of the time, no global effect if you kill the city boss and so on. Just wait till everyone have gotten their mount then what WoW call rvr, will be a ghost town again.
WoW is a pve game with a pvp afterthought, WAR the excact opposite. So again, this is a useless, ignorant troll thread. Go away, troll.

I see the problem a little differently, I love RvR, but its a guild project. I see stragglers show up for something else to do when my guild does a keep raid, but for the most part its something you have to do as a well coordinated group.
Most people think they should be able to solo through a game, and not have to ever be social, or even remotely pleasant to anyone beyond auto joining a group.
This whole "Soloable MMO", which is paradoxical, is something WoW did to the genre.

WotLK changed it already in it's pre launch patch.
Not a night goes by without a City raid or 4, 5 on SW on Al'Akir. And SW is but one of the many capitols to raid.
It's because there is nothing to do at this moment in WoW. None needs old gear so people try to find something else. As soon as WotLK will get released they get back to their raids and arenas. I saw this kind of an activity right before BC was released, and it died shortly thereafter...
And on EU Eltharion world pvp is going all day (and perhaps night) long. I went to sleep at 3 AM today and there was a good battle in t2...
MMO's will always be about the dungeons and loot to me, has been since ultima online. PVP in MMO's is in my opinion, for people who can't play a true pvp game, an FPS. i've said it before and i'll say it again, there will never be a good pvp MMO unless every class is the same, because as long as your items, your race, your class, and your level makes a difference, it will always be bullshit of who is what class and who is what level, and who has the most badass gear, skill will never be involved. you can't balance multiple classes evenly. it will never happen. there will be flavor of the month each neft bat comes out, the hoard of players will switch to the one class who has the i-win buttons.
so, i play fps games when i want to pvp and test my skill, i play mmo's to kill some frikken dragons.
PvE is for people who have no skill. Sorry scripts arnt a challenge. And im damn good in FPS, always top the charts. And PvP takes more brains than FPS, in FPS its all about the eye hand coordination and how quick u can react. They play two different ways.

your so modest omg , so you think your good so does alot of poeples btw people dont play pve because they think they have skill but mainly because it's fun and they like to achieve that kind of goal within a game , i recommend just a little respect for other people choice and what they like .

on that note, WoW can be considered a copy of every OTHER mmo on the market. You really think the stuff they put in there is original?

Grammar nazi's. This one is for you.
And SW is but one of the many capitols to raid.
)
PvE is for people who have no skill. Sorry scripts arnt a challenge. And im damn good in FPS, always top the charts. And PvP takes more brains than FPS, in FPS its all about the eye hand coordination and how quick u can react. They play two different ways.
Yeah cause WAR got the damn WoW trained chimps in its game now and all those dudes did for almost four years was run four battlegrounds.
Of course it doesn't bother them to run 3-4 scenarios until tier 4.
lol -- funny and true.

your so modest omg , so you think your good so does alot of poeples btw people dont play pve because they think they have skill but mainly because it's fun and they like to achieve that kind of goal within a game , i recommend just a little respect for other people choice and what they like .
