when i first seen images of this game, i thought cool, good graphics and lighting, and then i played a video from in game combat. I was then done wanting to play this game, why did they make turn based? this game would have awesome if it werent turn based.......

Based on your post, i believe you haven't tried the game. In any case, i suggest you try it amidst your belief that the turn based combat ruined everything.

I myself thought the same way as you do when i saw those videos in streaming sites but i still tried it and i admit, the overall concet of the game is great. It is for me one of the best Free to Play MMO and might even be comparable to a few Pay to Play one. ^-^

You will see why this game was able to capture a lot of attention and player database early on if you give it a shot.

Hope to see you ingame giving this game achance to prove you otherwise.

Then  it would just be like any other MMORPG right? I prefer turn based games myself, ever since I first played Fallout. I really like the combat system in this game, and it's what the game is all about. It doesn't have amazing interactivity, but it does have great gameplay. I wouldn't have played it if it didn't have the current combat system.

Well, not all enjoy turn-based games but I happen to be one of those who enjoy that type of battle strategy. Their choice of battle strategy is what sets them apart from the other MMORPG's out there. I'm personally not a fan of hack-and-slash and I happen to enjoy the strategic feel of a turn-based battle.

id even go so far that id like to see more games that utile turn based combat especially if turn base would evolve from the current atlantica online style to something more strategical.

if i remember right (omg im getting old) some of the classic games like "shinig force" had a more chess-board appeal to its combat making movement and position rather then simple formation part of the game as well.

maybe im easily impressed but i like the pvp in atlantica when you have to make descisions to win rather then solemnly basing the outcome on gear/class/level (+10%skill/reaction)

well atm i play both war and atlantica and very much enjoy the differences between the 2 games rather then looking for superiority of one game over the other

and i also think that diversity is good for the market. just as you have sportsgames/ adventures/ simulations... in single player games in the future you will have to categorize mmorpgs as well. for me there are "story driven", "action pvp", "strategic", "grinding" mmos alreaddy but im no expert to make firm labels. its just good to see that there are games that have their own character and atlantica is definitly one of them. i just hope they dont mess up the positive image i have of them with a bad concept of item malls or micro payment.

i actually enjoy it as much that id rather see it subscription based then free to play

Isn't it awesome? I mean the turn based system? Aren't you getting tired of those hack and slash? For me, I find the turn based system interesting since it is rarely featured in an MMORPG. Also, your decision making skills will be tested here with the timer above that keeps pressuring players.

Maybe your just used to the hack and slash. You should try the turn based system more. This is more enjoyable to the hack and slash because it added a new twist to the battling system in MMORPG.
