Hey guys,

I always though that Aion graphics was almost perfect but NCsoft added environment light and i must say that the new screens are really impressive. As you will see the old screenshots looks really bad if you compare them with the new ones

Before:

After:

Another Exemple:

If you want to see more screen you can go on the european website : eu.aiononline.com/en/news/article/visual_improvements_light_shadows

I'm no coder or dev, but I don't think the graphic engine was actually updated at all for this. Does it say that anywhere, do you have a dev post stating this? I'm asking because some people might get the impression their rig is no longer strong enough to support the game, when it might still be just fine...

Anyway it looks pretty awesome and so much livelier.

Well better graphics means more load on cpu and gpu. They didnt change texture to get this result but added environment light and shadow so yeah its will take more resource on your computer. The only thing i can quote is a reply by Asaye on another community forums.

So like he said many PC can handle it but if you have an older PC you can tune down the setting to get the game more fluid but thats also means less graphic quality. Unfortunatly no words as been said about the Config you need to be able to run the game at full setting. I guess we wont get an answer on that before the game reach open beta or release in Korea.

No, system requirments will be the same. Alot of dev's from other games do the same thing, build it, get it stable, polish it up. then after they get it the way they want it, they will go back and put finishing touches to the game like lighting. It should not be a problem if your running at or alittle higher of the required / recommended spec's .

Haha, great.  That really looks amazing.

P.S.  I hate to be selfish here, but I don't really care too much about requirements.  I'll be maxing out my settings on every slider, 1600x1200 resolution, day it comes out, and it won't lag, same as every other non-crysis game.

Hmm i'm really not sure that the requirements will be the same myself actually, although if they do change it shouldn't affect performance a great deal. I think the most important point to remember though is that the minimum / reccomended requirements are not set in stone just yet.

This was implemented in July, back when CBT3 started.

The requirements didn't go up, it's just a lighting option which can be tweaked. This just made the game better looking for those with high end PCs.

Requirements from now on can only go lower (and they are already lowish) they were even thinking about adding an extreme option like in L2 (texture filter) which will make the game look bad, but will perform greatly even on low end computers.
