Hammering movement?

Have you seen a character trying to hammer something? And raising the object he just hammered? Does anybody know what skill that was? I tried using my hammer and the only thing that I got was an element earth shard. And I didn't saw my character hammered the object. Can somebody explain this hammering movement? Thanks in advance!

i'm guessing that character is on autocraft mode. i'm not pretty sure but i also saw a lot of people in this position.
