This thread title... it's one of the most ignorant things I've ever seen on mmorpg.com...

It really shouldn't be a surprise that LA are seeking out the "WoW crowd", afterall, this was the original intent of the NGE.
I think you'll find that in the eyes of LA, they see no need to add sandbox type features with crafting, etc as they have SWG to fill that role. Hopefully with KOTORO, LA will start putting a bigger focus into the GCW and other unique features of SWG rather then appealing to those looking for a Jedi fix...
I don't mind if its really a WoW clone but at least i hope it's a good clone and not one that only got 10% of the original DNA.

Gotta love it, officially announced today and already we have some claiming it a failure. Sometimes you just have to wonder how some come to their conclusions lol.
To the OP and all other people flaming games for the fun of it... Do you even like MMO's anymore?
And one other thing... Did you think the high lasts forever or do you remember that games are for FUN not to satisfy your urges for the perfect high once again. I'm so sick of this tripe. These forums aren't even for people who like video games.

What's the definition of "great" here?
As far as I can see, SWTOR isn't that bad in the graphic. Sure, some like more realistic feel to the graphic, but seriously, if you are not supporting the project with money, what gives you the authority to make any demands?
As for the machine, average gamers might probably upgrade their PC once per year, some more hardcore gamers might do it every 3 - 6 months. But there still gamers that doesn't change their system until 2+ years. And guess what? those machines have problems when it comes to graphic-heavy games.
Are you going to pay for their upgrade? if not, then don't complain about why they choose to use less realistic graphic for the masses. If you are paying for people's upgrade, then you can pay for mine (a $4000 machine would get my machine going, thank you.)
Personally I don't think their art direction is that bad. Sure it's not realistic feeling, but it doesn't look that bad when compare to many other MMOs out there on the market.

Quoted for truth. But hey, look at it this way. The notorious Trolls now have a new MMO they can hate on. Must have been getting bored over at DF because the game looks like it may actually release, so ow they come to this game instead. Quite amusing really...and SOOOO expected.

yes especially since most star wars games don't have cartoony graphics ESPECIALLY NOT KOTOR. its an abomination of a great series and really disrespects it.
SWGs graphis are better than KOTOR online ... so they better pull a miracle out of thier butts to save the graphics.
How realistic graphics are have no relation to how popular games are. Look at WoW. I don't like WoW's graphics myself and I wish the KOTOR MMO would lean more towards realistic graphics.
If Bioware 'disrespects' their new MMO then LA would not have given them the license.

ive seen this happen too much lately but alot of gamers out there just bag games before any real concept is shown, or they want games to come out as fast as possible like spoilt little brats.
I say AT LEAST wait for some gameplay videos, or some confirmation that the graphics are like that, or are still in planning stage meaning they can change them if they wanted to.
everyone has to just give time, sadly not many like to wait for the future.

me personally, i am looking forward towards this game, always a big fan of SW and the kotor series, am also a fan of mmo's. saying that i will wait and keep myself occupied in the meantime. no worries

Posts like this are just making it seem more likely than ever that the MMO community is about to implode in upon itself.

It would have been nice that kotor mmo would use mass effect graphics (which is sublime), but I am sure not gonna pass on this by not trying it out

How the hell can you say it's a WoW clone?? from what i've read so far it's Basically Knights of the Old Republic 3 online and back in the hands of the developers that made the original single player great...
WoW clone?? damn people are so narrow minded and don't read anything.... It's story driven, WoW isn't story driven, if anything it's closer to LotRo because it's story driven but it's a long way off being a clone of anything but the original KotOR... This thread and those that think it's a WoW clone remind me of the posters who think Star Trek Online is a WoW clone.. DUMB..
Oh well, at least Darkfall will be out by then.
