what do you guys think about paying for beta?
I'm no WoW fanboy..but I might check this out, it sounds pretty good...16 bucks for 3 months, that's amazing!
they should do that with all games, they would be receiving funds before the game launched, more funds = more work, more work = faster bug fixes + patches + expansions, all that = happiness

Congrats. to Blizzard and Fileplanet on taking advantage of all these stupid ppl. It's bad enough that they're paying to stress test a beta, but they're actually falling for the devious marketing tricks and buying unneeded subscriptions. I bet these are the same ppl. that think they can get free ipods and get rich by mailing letters at home.

You aren't paying for WoW beta you are paying for Fileplanet/gamespy sub. Don't do it just for 1 beta (esp not a 7 day one..). If you like betas and the like fp is definatly worth it (downloading Tribes Vengance beta...).
You don't pay for 1 beta you pay for a whole lot of betas and sporadically fast download servers.

The WoW Beta is now open to non paying fileplanet memebers. They opened it up to everyone after a day of their paying cutomers being able to sign up for a slot.

Ok, really now, thats just depressing. You got a multi-million dollar company like Blizzard, comes out with a MMORPG, disk space consumed, 2.3 GB. When I played GuildWars beta, how much disk consumed? I believe about 60MB.

The keys are going in smaller batches at a time.
If you get a message saying they're out of keys, it should also say that they're putting you on a waiting list and will mail you when they get more in. I didn't get mailed, but I went and refreshed that page a bit later and had a key.
So it's just a matter of them releasing the keys in small batches.
I just applied to public free beta and got accepted. So there are still keys out there.

Finally got my download done after having my connection dropped twice. God, I really hate File Planet. I can't wait for the stress test to start. Even if the lag is horrible, I doubt it will be any worse than SWG's live servers.
LOL i remember the open beta test for lineage 2. Give it about an hour of blizzard opening up their servers and watch the dissapointment.
Their going to have 1000 to 5000 players who have been itching to play this one all trying to log in at the same time.Im even willing to bet that some of these people will be taking the day off to play.

What the hell? I spend 4 hours downloading the damn client and the zip file is corrupt.
Fileplanet is worth the money! I payed 180 for 3 years. Its worth it. The download speed is amazing and I love getting 5.01Mbps every download. The free betas is a plus having a first chance to grab betas is even better I dont have to worry when working I missed it.
Fileplanet offers the best betas. Wouldnt be suprised to see EQ2 on the next open beta first.
If ya got extra Money use it
The zip file is NOT corrupt.

But the gist of it is that you have to open it with the NEWEST version of winzip or with XPs file compression handler.
