why not sit and watch the TV show OP? it is more easier. you wont worry about the issure of games. let Blizzard, Myth go to eat KFC
comn, they are just games, dont be too serious. just like playing chess. somebody think it is great while others thinks it is a pretty boring thing. when you want play, play it. when you are tired of it, stop it, when you want to pick it up again , do it. it is just for fun. above all, we are not Myth, EA, games workshop and Blizzard........ so it seems that we can do nothing about it when they dont listen to us. maybe you can tell your thoughts to the game maker directly. if the accept it, then maybe it can do something to make the WAR better, and that is what we all want to see as well. but just whine here, maybe can do nothing about it, but depress others, especially for the new visitor to the game-like me. look OP, i just begin to play the game... when i see your words, i feel a little disappointed in the WAR, you are influencing guys like me to enjoy it.
I'm not resubbing for pretty much the same reasons as OP. After finally being able to actually play the game after an upgrade, I was enjoying my time until I hit Tier 3, where I realised that since level 1 I'd done nothing but join scenarios - TA was a slap in the face.
I bought WAR thinking I was going to be constantly fighting for Keeps and such, instead I was mostly queuing for scenarios, handing in the same quests over and over again (kill 20 players, participate in TA), each time zoning out of the scenarios looking at my map hoping that we were either trying to take Keeps or defend them, RvR rarely happens.
I've been in a few WB's to take Keeps, but out of all the keeps we took, I think only 1 or 2 times they were actually being defended (and I never seem to get close to a gold bag - only need the damn chestpiece!). Again, thanks to scenarios the RvR is dead, people are lazy and can't be bothered to move from one spot to do something fun, so they join scenarios for the quick and easy leveling.
I could list the things I'd like to see, but I really doubt they'll get rid of scenarios, as that's at the top of my list.
I love Tier 3 and all the scenarios and beautiful locations to visit, but when I play my other characters who arnt there yet, it shows me how boring the early content is for me now that I've seen places like Avelorn and The Temple of Isha, or High Pass with its frozen lands of ice and snow.
whats the point of having his stuff when they are bind on equip. other junk are worthless, even if they did come in handy it'll eventually go to the toons. makes no sense in even asking, unless of course you are being sarcastic. if you were to be playing on the magnus server and asked me a week ago when my free month was still up, i woulda sent you all 200g on my account.

Umm.... its a kind of a saying you say to people leavign the game.
No offense to the OP, but I am glad some people are leaving, no I am not trying to twist this, but there is nothing worse than playing with people that whine in the game about how this game doesnt compare to their XYZ game and how it isnt fun for them.
I am currently in T3 with my guild (despite we got several that are in T4 now), we got over 400+ active members playing both Order and Destruction. Alot of us that are hanging in there and figuring out the game alot better now and knowing what to do instead of running scenarios after scenarios and actually figuring out how to play our characters as a group. As stated, this game is a Alt-Aholic Dream!
Currently I am doing the dungeons (Altdorf) and the PQ's like Mount Gundbad (for example, excellent place however for loot drops) and having a blast with my guildmates. I am finally figuring out the ToK and what to quest for to improve my character.
If your going to pull a -- Hi I am JOE SOLO and I am going to Solo this game - you will quit before your even level 20. Its a shame though, alot of people are missing out just by doing scenarios, since they want to get to level 40 asap and try to capp their renown.
Stop and smell the roses and do the PQ's if you can (I know it tough with ppl in scenarios, but you really dont have to have to group if your just attempting to gain influence and move onto the next chapter). Yeah I know your pulling a JOE SOLO by doing this, its a damn shame and mythic should look more into improving the PQ participation, but get your influence done and get out and try the next chapter.
Unlock some of your ToKs, join a Guild that is active (preferrably a guild thats uses voice chat) in the game that schedule RvR Battlekeeps runs. If you do scenarios everytime you log on, well it was nice knowing you in WAR, cause you wont last and will burn out fast.
I am currently in T3 with my guild (despite we got several that are in T4 now), we got over 400+ active members playing both Order and Destruction.
WOW, total buzzkill to realm loyalty eh? I hope you guys don't play both sides of the same server!
Nope, were on different servers, its cool though to talk to other guildmates that are playing the other faction, they bring some good information. But that works both ways.
Though it would have been crazy if it was set up that our Order Guild vs our Destro Guild.
You hit the nail on the head when you said Mythic made a PVP mini game, or mini game theme park as I like to call it, and not an addictive deep open world RVR game. Now instead of waiting at a server screen to get your mini game fix you can now wait in a virtual chat room jumping through the bland PQ's hoops or fedex, kill x quests until your scenario pops.
Scenarios are like having to pay a monthly sub to play Team Fortress 2 or insert any number of online fps games and their game modes. As that's what it really is at it's core. Why would I play scenarios when Team Fortress 2, BF2 or COD4 does it 10x better, and is far more fun? Mythic really need to rethink their approach to RVR a redo it from the ground up and make WAR the RVR it should have been.
It's as if they looked at the success of Call of Duty 4 and said, “Hey! Lets try do that reward system in our MMO!" " Instead of a persistent world of territory control only, players can go off to mini maps just like COD4 and grind their experience bar for goodies!” Sorry Mythic, but that formula works great for online fps, but not a MMO that's meant to be a persistent RVR world.
No offense to the OP, but I am glad some people are leaving, no I am not trying to twist this, but there is nothing worse than playing with people that whine in the game about how this game doesnt compare to their XYZ game and how it isnt fun for them.
While I agree with you about whiners, the game should really not be released yet. Half a year of fixes, balancing and added content would have made the game a lot better, and we would see a lot fewer I quit threads.
The game is not bad but it have the potential to be great if Mythic works really hard, it was a misstake to release it so early.
There are quite a few good comments in this thread and I think both side's of the arguement can maybe agree on 1 word.....Shallow.
This is how we(my guild) are finding it atm,we are hanging in there and hoping for the best come 1.1 patch to see how things go.
We all wanted an open pvp game, keep siege's/defense with some scenario's when you wanted a quick fix,atm I have all but gave up on scenario's are they are getting to be really old really fast, some nights we can have a great nights rvr with keep and BO's but unfortunatly this is not happening nearly enough.
Last night we ran Bastion stairs and was good fun but not something to do too many times, also dont like how we have to run say the warpblade tunnels so many times before we can have a chance in sigmar crypts,if there is no rvr going on hell let us pve where we want,we just want to have a laugh and dont care about gear grinding.
Like I said I will give it another month or so until the 1.1 come's and see how the game is looking then, will be a shame if alot of the problems arent addressed as the game can be fun at times.
If someone had came up to me in 1980 when I was on my Atari 2600 and said we will be playing games with thousands of people at the same time.I guess my response would have been,"but I only have 2 joysticks"

I agree.
Same thing for me and alot of our guildies on both my toons which are both in T4 one destro mid 30's, one order 40.
on my first toon i thought maybe i out lvl'd alot of people since there was almost no rvr going on at all. so i decided to go order and hopefully find the under dog side to have more fights, same thing when i hit T4 Rvr rarly happens and only happens when a guild ever so often puts a raid together to go snag the keeps or bfo's
So maybe you see RvR 3-4 times a week and these rvr battles only last for maybe an hour or so, so if your not logged on when it happens you might not even see rvr for weeks if your unlucky, other then that its grinding scenarios or running bastion stair for 45 mins or so until your locked out.. Theres nothing really else to do other then grind PQ's which by now pretty much everyone in their 40's have full inf on all chapt 20-22. If you enjoy running the same scenarios (Serpents Passage) over and over more power to you, but alot of people are getting bored and trying other things.. You can hate on them and tell them theres the door all you want. But until you log on week after week and have nothing to do but run Serpents passage you will wanna leave to.
I have left for the same reason ALOT of people are leaving. and yes we know where the door is and we are gladly using it until mythic turns this game around.
Spew your nerdrage all you want.
could be errors typos all that junk 6am and iam going to bed. so deal with it!
Don't let the door kick you on the way out. Sorry but I don't have any of the problems you mentioned. I always get enough people for PQs, don't feel compelled to grind scenarios (why would anyone is a complete mystery to me) and I have no idea what you mean by "balance problems". Oh and yes, I play on an underpopulated server. We might be playing a different game then, or at least we were playing it as a different game more probably. Get a guild and try to understand what this game is about. You have to go with the flow of the game and your realm instead of trying to fight it. No, you won't get your open RvR right now and no, that PQ that you got your mind set up on might be well deserted. But hey, go to the other PQ that is populated, get into the group and then after its done say "hey lets do this other PQ or maybe steal a keep?". That's how you do things in this game.
That might apply for a high - high populated server.
Unfortunately only a handful (lets say around 3-4 here in EU atm) are high populated.
More than half the servers here in EU are low - low to low - med population.
Try getting there some world RvR going or PQ's. Or even a scenario to pop within a reasonable time.
And the retarded comments about: "Then you should reroll to high populated server" don't fly anymore with that many servers on low population!
Just one note on the post by DAS1337. The stuttering issue I had was fixable with tweeking the settings on NVidia controlpanel and turning off lightmaps, specular lighting and keeping shadows on balanced. So I'm not that computer illiterate. My pc-level is backed by a few years in school studying pc's and I built my own rig plus I'm the 'go to' guy with my family, my circle of personal friends and their acquainteces when it comes to pc problems. Fiddled with programming on the side aswell, just as a hobby though. Just cause you don't have issues with that, doesn't mean anyone else have it. Go read some feedback forums concerning Warhammer. Lot's of people complaining about the stutter issue. Haven't had any CTD's though, and if that is just pure luck, or some good programming I dunno. Some people have that issue aswell. On the matter of NVidia-based pc's, either you're shit lucky or you're lying. NVidia got problems with this game. They are fixable with a little tweaking here and there, but that should be totally unnesseccary.

The question you have to ask is where does the real problem fall? Is it really hundreds of thousands of are playing the game "wrong" as you hint at or is it the design of the game not encouraging enough diveristy?
Most of the game mechanic designs seem to be casual solo friendly and the game is certainly lacking any real community building tools, especially if after one month people are already saying the are "hanging in there" and suggesting that a big active guild is almost a must.
I know I am taking some liberties with your post, but I think it unfairly is blaming the players of the game for the issues at hand. The games populations are just to spread out and need to be consolidated. That alone would most likely make this game much more enjoyable for many people and take care of many of the issues. My fear though is doing that will just congest T4 to the point of overpopulation in a few months time.
Don't let the door kick you on the way out. Sorry but I don't have any of the problems you mentioned. As I mentioned in several other threads I am playing on a low populated server.
No, I won't get much spectacular RvR in the mornings and I do have to actually LFG once or twice in /1 when I want to complete PQs but that's about the extent of my problems. If that's catastrophically "broken" for all those players then just go ahead and enjoy your 2hr + LFG ing to do one measly pug instance in WoW.
Meh, I'm shocked how I find this game fantastically easy to group and no time wasted when I play at all... and yet those haters keep saying just the opposite. I simply do not get it. Sorry but I don't. When I play WAR for 2 hours I PLAY it for 2 hours, non-stop and 90% of the time it is in group content within a group. No other MMO I ever played comes even close in that regard.
Just another hater. I like how one of his first gripes was about how the player models made him feel, sexually. If this is your scale for weather or not you like this game, you should be playing a different game.

First, it was their look, not how they made me feel. I'm way into my 30's and know deadsure where my sexual preferences are thank you. Neither did I scale that on if I wanted to play the game or not. You call me a hater. I got news for you, I aint. Check my post history and you'll find I'm pretty relaxed about the games I comment on. Lastly, If I'm a hater, you are a troll. Your comment is akin to those 'dont let the door hit you' type of comments. Just trolling, and totally useless in any thread.
Edit:Haha...I can't believe I got a mod warning from this thread. Bah, some people are just too fragile.
dang, really good analysis, but to best honest there's a few things. First of all, the graphics aren't as good as Age of Conan, and second of all, umm, the real problem with this game is that the community sux, it's boring cause the combat is outdated, and third of all, the main issue is that there's not competitive end game, I dont' care what you say this game still doesn't have fun, comeptitve, really kool end game
You leave? Great. We're better off without people like you who don't understand that this game is just HALF finished. I mean, it's full of glitches, 4 capital cities aren't finished yet, and they are creating the next 4 classes.
Mythic just didnt want us to wait any longer, cuz they already changed the release date alot of times, and they decided to create the game while we are playing.
And now already I like it even more then Guild Wars and WoW. Imagine how the game will be when it's finished.
Also, this game will offer in the future much more then other mmo's, warhammer has at least 16 races we could use as playable races, while WoW is already on it's limit with 10. Just Naga would be a possible next playable race.
You could say you'll join when the game is finished. But those who start now will be the strongest when that time comes.
If I had a couple of kids say around 10-14 then I would subscribe to WAR. The death penalty is minimal and combat is basic enough as its click and swing. Seriously not making fun of your thread but hand on heart I would sub because the game is family friendly. However for me its way to simple and I need a very strong community to keep me in and the server I was on had less people playing than Vanguard at its low point. I am talking about seeing 2-3 people in 1 hour. Unless of course I jumped into another scenario...

I wrote a long and thoughtful reply to this, read through it and realized -What the hell!, let the post speak for itself.

More than half the servers here in EU are low - low to low - med population.
Try getting there some world RvR going or PQ's. Or even a scenario to pop within a reasonable time.
And the retarded comments about: "Then you should reroll to high populated server" don't fly anymore with that many servers on low population!
Cheers
Trolls are, as usual ignored and shunned.

PLAY WURM ONLINE!! www.wurmonline.com

My family loves WAR, great game!
I quit too.
It was fun for a while, but not worth my $15 a month.
There's not a whole lot to do. I found myself just logging on to play scenarios.
I'm waiting on Champions Online, DC Universe, Star Trek Online, and SW: TOR.
Maybe I am just sick of the Fantasy setting?
I wrote a long and thoughtful reply to this, read through it and realized -What the hell!, let the post speak for itself.
