My background is years(started day 1) in Ultima Online, EQ and WoW and some others in between.
I now have a lvl 20 BW and lvl 24 SW. I am working both of them so I can get a better feel of the game. I am not too concerned just yet over the population is that will either work itself out or it will fail. Just how it is.
Healing seems a bit too 'buffed' - You can be in a scenario and can have 6-10 people attacking a single Orc Tank and 1 or 2 healers can keep them alive forever... That is a bit far fetched. How good is the healing?
Destruction is a 'better' side. No real questions about that. In a equal lvl'd scenario destruction kicks ass. LOTS of time though... I would say 80% of the time the score is 500 to 100 or less and destruction wins.
Population does seem to be tailing off. Only the large guilds seem to have people on. I see this as either the game is failing and it will fail or it is a lull. Can't comment further.
Still enjoying it and maybe I will try the new tank. Don't think Destruction needed another thank... Their choices in tanks seems fine

Funny, on my server (Ironfist), Order seems to win the majority of the scenarios, and I play Destruction (Zealot). So I disagree that they they are the better side. And as a healer, I can't keep a target up if 6 people are pounding on it. Anyway, good players go after the healers; six players pounding on a Black Orc is not a very efficient tactic.
I agree that the population has thinned out too much. Mythic is aware of that, and will fix it soon, hopefully. This game needs an active population more than most other MMOs, and server transfers are going to be needed. Hang in there, WAR has the potential to be a great game - right now it's great *sometimes*, but they're not quite there yet.
I think order is one "human knight" class away from evening out. For some reason, WAR players prefer to play evil rather than good(I'm one of them). This hasnt been the case in DAOC(Albion was the more "vanilla" good guy group), WOW, or EQ2. Mythic was able to make Hybernia a well populated realm by giving them OP classes(Vampiir), so I think they will figure things out.
I don't think Destro is the "better" side besides that they have more immersive PVE IMO. Both sides have 2 Tanks, although Order's tanks look worse. Order beats Destro in ranged DPS, while Order beats destro in melee DPS. Even these generalizations are a stretch, as the classes are quite balanced even in their realm uniqueness. On paper, the balance is excellent and I am surprised that Order does not win.
I have only seen one "high" server since I bought the game a week ago, and it was only the destro side. Population doesnt seem great, I mean can EVERYONE be in Scenarios? It doesnt seem like they hold that many ppl. Population isn't really a problem though, although I haven't played ANY RVR(not for lack of trying) so that is a bit annoying. Ideally, a server will be populated enough that the scenario whores will be forced to pve if pve oriented or rvr if so choosing while they wair 15-20 minutes per queue
Destro definitely doesnt need another tank. They should give Order a Human tank/knight and give destro a dark elf Shadow warrior to balance things out.
Extremism in the defense of Liberty is no vice.
Eventually the smart ones(helps with guild and friends in vent) to go after the healers. Even though you do that it seems that destruction tanks and last forever.

Healing is very good. I believe that to be a good thing to a point. 1 or 2 healers can keep 1 tank alive that is getting gang raped. That seem normal?

In Tier 4 healing gets overwhelmed by damage, as a melee Disciple of Khaine specced for torture I only get to enjoy the action whenever I have my 2 healers online, now that the shaman is going back to wow I might just go for dark rites spec and be the healer
Destruction side isn't overpowered, most likely you are jumping against premade parties while you are in the pick ups group, thus why you lose. Try to get a clan to collaborate with and you'll see improvement in the results.
Population is tailing off indeed, and that's critical for this game, allowing free transfers to unpopulated servers won't fix this, will only make it worse imho, there are way too many servers, they should work on the optimization side and get bigger capacities instead of spreading the population. My server has gone from high-full to mid-mid after the free month, sad.
I dont mind the healing being the way it is. I do find that while destruction has some very high dps classes its hard to break threw their frontlines to reach those healers. While on the other hand a destruction tanks or witch elf with a healers can totally destroy an order party. Its not always this way of course.
One thing I would like to see not to nerf healers is to remove their damage skills......I guess more or less make them healers. I play a T2 rune priest and find myself all the time tempted to deal damage. While in T4 with my main I seem to never get heals from such classes as warrior priests.
The problem with the whole, kill the healer concept is this, first...yes Destro has way too many tanks in Scenarios, will give you an example.....Scenario Serpent's gate last nite....Destro levels 40,40,40,40,40,40,37,38,40,40
ORder levels 34,34,36,32,30,30,36,38,32,30 See the mismatch? was like this all night, they are just farming reknown while Order is trying to Level up the hard way, anyways like 4 or 5 of those level 40's were chose, maraucerrr....you know ZERGS and we had like one IB and one SM which by the way is barely a tank, so tell me who's gonna win? hell we had healers playing the tank part, we had no choice. Mythic is shooting itself in the foot, yahhh lets give Destro another tank, that'll fix things.......I'll get to my point, I only have 2 days to play this crappy game so here's my take on the "Kill the Healer" concept. Yes RDPS is good, when you can get in range. the Healers are not supid on destro, the order goes like this, chosen, marauder, orcs upfront, casters in the middle magus, sorceres, and in the back are the healers....SW distance shot limit is 100 ft, there is no way you can hit a healer with only 100 ft range, i've been trying to get Mythic to look at this, RDPS needs a 20 ft boost to reach the healers......if you creep up the stupid DOK use thair AOE stun and disable you giving the Sorcerers time to cast away at you, or at worse, gives the melee a chance to ever so SNARE you, and your dead.
Yes we have Throat shot which silences casters, once again tho only 100 ft, so sometimes were forced to take out Targets of Opportunity which usually are the mages, which is still good because we can penetrate him very well, and the sorceres, and of course old Squigy always a fun target to punt around and stuff...so there's my take.
