After reading this, although still being extremely cautious about making any positive cheers, it does slightly gets my hopes up. The fact that they really are not only willing to put this amount of people on it, but actually taking a few of their most talented staff to work on this game full-time, does give a good first impression of where this game is heading.
Who knows, after all these years there might finally be a quality game around the corner that delivers top notch fun and entertainment from the very first level, all the way til the end content. Something that hasn't happened to me anymore since WoW ( yes I know the general hate against wow on this site, but take it as you want, I personally tried most mmo's and none of them gripped me as much as wow did for a while )

And I don't want to hear anything about "I don't believe in vampires" because *I* don't believe in vampires, but I believe in my own two eyes, and what *I* saw is ******* vampires! "
Hmm, I wouldn't go as far as saying it will take years upon years. What I took from the article was they have been watching the market for 10 years and they are ready to implement their ideas. With that said, it looks like they have been already implementing some of those ideas and putting the structure in place.
In my mind that is probably the best practice. You could look at building a house or preparing for a childs future. You look at what others have done and learn from it. In this case they have had alot of games to look at and have a chance to implement great ideas.
From reading some of the FAQ's on their site, sounds like they are attempting something similar to Final Fantasy Online. With a WOW/SWG twist. While also, implementing their works from previous titles, like KOTOR1 & 2. That is what I gathered from it and does not mean I was correct in my assessment.
I felt that Final Fantasy had a great story plot. WOW has its PVP and SWG was such a free flowing world that it was like you were actually living on it. SWG has also has the best crafting engine out of all the games out there IMO. This is only my opinion, does not mean it is fact, nor does it suggest that this is what Bioware should do.
I am excited for this game, cause if you can implement Kotor/PVP&RVR/ with a free flowing world... just sounds like a dream. I can only hope that this title is as great as Biowares others..
my thoughts exactly proximo. Ofcourse there is no guarantee that they will be able to do all these things that you said, but if they would succeed in this, then this can become an amazing game. Now let's just hope they actually try to do these things . ( and lets hope they already started on this game a long time ago ;P so we dont have to wait for 3-4 years )
