Hey guys,
I just installed the game because I thought I'd take advantage of the free-gametime weekend.
So yeah, I installed the game, and launched it. But When I press Continue on the updater, I get this message :
-------
Update Initialization Error.
The update process could not be initialized.
Details: System.Exception: Unknown error (0xc0000005) (0xC0000005)
---------
Then the whole thing just shuts down.
I wrote to the tech support and they said I should uninstall the .Net Framework 1.1 and .Net Framework 1.1 SP1, then re-install them. So I did, but I still got the same message. There dosn't seem to be any interferance with my Firewall, so I'm totally clueless.
I can't find the launcher.exe file though, is that a problem ?

I use Windows Xp.
Do you mean the file TurbineInvoker ?
Same thing happens with that one
Try posting on the Codemasters Techhelp forum instead (if you havent). There is usualy some player around who have had similar issues! I hope you find a way to solve it.
If WoW = The Beatles
and WAR = Led Zeppelin
Then LotrO = Pink Floyd
Thanks for the tip .
But none of their suggestions have worked so far though
Still can't update the game, I have re-installed it 3 times now ><
I googled your issue and found this thread from the US forum:

Yay!
Yeah I had to make a new Windows user, and delete the Lotro launch files in my other user.
Weird, but I think I'll be able to play now anyways.
Thanks a lot Papadam

Exactly the same problem as me. I had to make a new user too. It's a hassle switching back and forth, but LotRO is worth it.
