If you don't like Darkfall then why are you here? Clearly just to get attention.
The game looks fun. It promises features that most of us really miss in MMO gaming and some features that we have always wanted in MMO gaming.
It isn't hard to see why so many people follow the game. The videos look fun and the feature list is great.
I've been watching Darkfall since the beginning and I am very happy to know that within a few short months we will either know if it is going to happen or not. By the looks of things, it is going to happen.
I don't care about an open beta, I don't care about seeing character creation slots, I don't care if anyone in the public has logged on to play this game. They have announced it is going to release late this year to the world, to the media, and they are taking a lot of steps to see that through.
One way or another this game will either lanuch or not, and we will all know either way its fate.

There is no guarantee that we will know for sure by the end of 2008. Sure Aventurine and Tasos will take a small hit if they miss the end of 2008 "promise". But it won't change very much beyond that.

It might shake the faith of a few of the newcomers if it gets pushed back again... but there will be more newcomers when/if they make another announcement of Open Beta/release at a later date. So in the end, nothing much will change.

Then, i randomly found darkfall online. The video name(What is darkfall online) I watched the whole video and now, i waiting in line to play it. When i read, full loot, pvp every were, no levels, skills base(Skills are easy to raise and its not like level like in RS). Full freedom, no instance. But i guess they all agreed to make that up so that no one sees the one true proof of vaporware - NO CHARACTER CREATION VIDEO. (it's like the "No UI on screenshots" argument all over again.

After the famous video of August 2008 (not 2003), subscriptions at the official forums has trebled, meaning that people who didn't know about DF before, all of a sudden got interested to it due to the video, and apparently they liked what they saw.
So all your theory about veteran fanboys waiting for 7 years and forcing themselves to like it, is utterly laughable.
Fact is that there are many people who like this game design, but there is no game ready on the market.

The Beta announcement is about when it is ending (early December). This means that Open Beta will begin this month to allow for "a few weeks" of Open Beta. If you can't even do simple math then you should be back in elementary school, instead of posting on forums.

most games show things like Character Creation videos around a year before Launch... it's very comon. And a series of smaller videos could be created to show the different gameplay features, even Dark and Light did them!

On the contrary, it's much better to be a sad troll than a fanboi. If the game comes out and is good, the fanboi gets what he wanted and the troll is pleasantly surprised but loses nothing, but if the game sucks, or just doesn't come out at all, the fanboi is heartbroken and the troll is not surprised.

Im going to have to disagree with you, did you see how great the videos looked for AoC? They were awesome, far more awesome than the game turned out in fact.
A video of a game is not the same as having your hands on a game. Any number of things can be avoided in a video, and these same things you can run into face first when you finally log in for the first time, theyre misleading at best, and should be taken with a grain of salt.

After the famous video of August 2008 (not 2003), subscriptions at the official forums has trebled, meaning that people who didn't know about DF before, all of a sudden got interested to it due to the video, and apparently they liked what they saw.
So all your theory about veteran fanboys waiting for 7 years and forcing themselves to like it, is utterly laughable.
Fact is that there are many people who like this game design, but there is no game ready on the market.
DF is the closest you can get, therefore this people are waiting in trepidation..........not forcing themselves......
Do your research better next time.

The Beta announcement is about when it is ending (early December). This means that Open Beta will begin this month to allow for "a few weeks" of Open Beta. If you can't even do simple math then you should be back in elementary school, instead of posting on forums.

The interest has grown a lot lately compared to years ago, because back then, there was plenty of quality games to play, but now, people seem desperate for something good to play, something different.
I was forced to do something once... never again... you HEAR!??! NEVER AGAIN?!?!
yes but why is that suddenly so important? I couldn't care less about character creation (and I guess, as there are no classes, it should be a pretty simple process with not much to show).
It's important because people like to know what their tools for building characters will be like, maybe? Just a hunch...
Since when is creating your avatar for an MMO, NOT important? Especially one that claims to have all the crap that Darkfall has! It will be the most important part of your game!
I swear, I'm beginning to beleive that DF fanbois are really seriously ill, if they'll go THIS far to defend this game.
I dont need to force myself to like a game i think i will enjoy. You fail anyway because Tasos said that the features are in and i believe him because the game has been in development for a very long time.
If some are not in then that doesnt bother me too much because theres still plenty of features that are very appealng to me which are already in because they are apparent in the videos.

Plus, actually some people from Greece have confirmed that there was a show on which they showed Darkfall character costumisation, emotes and some head gear. But i guess they all agreed to make that up so that no one sees the one true proof of vaporware - NO CHARACTER CREATION VIDEO. (it's like the "No UI on screenshots" argument all over again.

On the contrary, it's much better to be a sad troll than a fanboi. If the game comes out and is good, the fanboi gets what he wanted and the troll is pleasantly surprised but loses nothing, but if the game sucks, or just doesn't come out at all, the fanboi is heartbroken and the troll is not surprised.

If you are so sure and confident of Darkfall being the Holy Grail of MMOs, why put so much effort into defending it?
If its really going to be as great as you think it is, let the game speak for itself, instead of mindlessly attacking anyone with a differing opinion.
Obviously since neither you nor the rest of your congregation have any physical proof of what Darkfall will or will not be, let the game do the talking.
Your constant defense of the game tells me that you arent as confident as youd have everyone think.

Frankly I enjoy my never ending fight against blind faith. Im the type of person that gets into arguments with Jehovas Witnesses when they show up at my door, or with Pro life people handing out pamplets outside the grocery store.

I wont be dislodged by a group of patsies who dont even get paid for the time they spend doing Aventurines viral marketing. Nor will I be dislodged by people like yourself who dont even know the facts on where I stand, so let me make this clear.
1) I do in fact want Darkfall to launch and be successful, I plan on playing it myself.
2) I dont have anything against Darkfall, just the Froth&Foam Fanbois(TM)
3) I will not approach a game with open arms and blind faith, I want proof, then Im in, I wont be convinced by any manner of promises, developer double talk, or Tasos's usual carrot-on-a-stick approach.

Im going to have to disagree with you, did you see how great the videos looked for AoC? They were awesome, far more awesome than the game turned out in fact.
A video of a game is not the same as having your hands on a game. Any number of things can be avoided in a video, and these same things you can run into face first when you finally log in for the first time, theyre misleading at best, and should be taken with a grain of salt.
