WAR up from #13 on xfire to now #11...

guess all the doom and gloom references to xfire #s might be a little over inflated.

This is the worst BS I have heard in a looong time. WAR was 52500 hours played like 2 weeks back, It was 40300 last saturday and yesterday it was 31000. This is an outrageous drop of -25% pr week. As if that is not enough this also seem to happen to the number of players. WAR is fullspeed down to 5000 Xfireplayers. What you are doing wrong is basically comparing a friday to saturday. Saturday is always higher than friday, hence the "improvement from #13 to #11". I am telling you this because I play(or played this game) and WAR is absolutely dead in game. Nothing is going on. I am very surprised the game even holds a #13 in it's current form.

Spin it any way you need to in order to feel better.  bottom line is the bottom line.  #11 -- 1 spot out of top 10 for xfire users.  Friday also was Halloween, so that would have an affect as well.  If the game was so dead and such a failure it would be much, much, MUCH lower then #11.  I would expect if it can hang in this area and ride out WOTLK and get to the much anticipated Patch in Dercember, it should be more then fine.  I just logged out and there was plenty of RvR in Tier 3.

Oh and not sure what the BS is your referring to -- I pulled #11 from xfire official site.

Maybe war players are casual and not hardcore life fucks like most mmo players seem to be.

I play casual and it is one of the things I love about WAR.  I can run a PQ, do some RvR or a scenario or 2, log out and have felt like I accomplished something or made progress.

So does this mean that since WOW is down 10% from the same day previous week that out of the 11 million players it quoted last week, 1.1 million players have already got bored of the new content and left again? In less than 2 weeks? OMG 1.1 million players lost! The sky is falling!

    /sarcasm off

Compare  Saturday to last saturday..  friday to last friday.   Gameplay varies greatly depending on the day of the week.  Every game shows a big jump on Sat and Sunday.

You compare it.  My point is --- I repeat, MY POINT IS, if the game is doing so poorly and so many people want to use xfire as a means to prove that it is doing poorly, you may want to find another way.  Being #11 on xfire is not representative of a game about to die.  if the game is about to crash and burn it does not matter if it is Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday or whatever -- It would NOT be ranked so high no matter if it is prime time hours or not.   Sorry, but there you go. -- Oh, and nice try.

I dont personally use it.  But since people want to point to xfire as proving WAR is doing poorly I think it is very valid to point out, according to xfire WAR is hanging in there quite nicely.  #11 out of hundreds of game -- not bad.  Going from #13 a few days ago to #11 -- that is a positive move.  I think its great turning the tables on those who tried to use xfire to discredit WAR.

No, but use it, you used it in your thread title. Which means you have, perhaps unwittenly, tacitly accepted xfire as valid information.  You can't take it back now.

No, what you want to do is say xfire is wrong until you want to use it to make a point.  That is deception as far as I am concerned.

Xfire statistics are biased & unreliable for quite a lot of reasons, but why have another thread debating this when there is already a mammoth thread devoted to just that.

If you can't "Have your cake & eat it too", then how can "The proof of the pudding be in the eating"?

Please stop with the trolling and fanboism guys, can't you be rational?

Warhammer isn't doing great, nor is it doing horrible

The simple fact is that it had a disapointing launch but it's still far from a failure and there is no way to know what will happen in the next 2 months. We should hope for the best, there is enough failure in this business without adding more.

I'm sorry, but you have no point. Next week it will hit the new low, because it is in downtrend. Mark my words.
